They Bullied The CEO’s Daughter Without Knowing Who I Was Chapter 01
On Friday, I went to my dad’s company to wait for him to get off work. I found an empty desk and started playing video games.
His secretary Amber Chase stormed over and screamed at me.
“You’re seriously playing games right now? Because you screwed up, we missed a client email and lost twenty million dollars.”
“Well? How are you gonna pay that back?”
I shook my head, confused.
“You’ve got it wrong. I don’t even work here. I’m just waiting for my dad to get off work.”
She let out this cold, mean laugh—then slapped me right across the face.
“Still lying? I’m calling the cops. I think you’re a corporate spy from a competitor.”
Tears in my eyes, I pulled out my smartwatch and texted my dad.
“Dad, your secretary hit me.”

Dad was in a meeting. He didn’t reply.
Secretary Amber put her hands on her hips and sneered.
“All those designer clothes—did you sell company secrets to pay for them?”
“Spill it. How many deals have you ruined?”
She shoved me hard, and I crashed onto the floor.
Mom taught me to be strong.
I pressed my lips together and didn’t cry. “Ma’am, I didn’t. Why are you pushing me? Mom says pushing is wrong.”
Amber shrieked and grabbed my hair.
“You little fake! Did you just call me ‘ma’am’?”
It hurt so much. I struggled.
“Let go! Ma’am, you’re hurting me! I’m going to tell my dad to fire you!”
Amber laughed in my face. “Who the hell is your dad? Fire me? I’m calling HR to fire you right now, and you’ll still owe the company twenty million!”
She dragged me all the way to HR.
More and more employees gathered to watch.
Someone tried to tell Amber to back off.
She yelled for everyone to hear, “Don’t let her pathetic little act fool you. Thanks to her screw-up, we lost a twenty-million-dollar deal. Say goodbye to our bonuses. I’m doing this for every single one of you.”
Everyone’s expression changed.
Sympathy turned to disgust. No one spoke up for me.
I kept saying, “Dad, help me.”
Amber sneered, “Is that your real dad or some sugar daddy?”
“Disgusting. You’ve got that homewrecker look. Entry level makes five thousand a month. That Balenciaga coat—your sugar daddy buy it for you? And you’re walking around flashing a Van Cleef necklace?”
She yanked hard. The necklace Mom gave me for my twelfth birthday snapped.
“You evil woman! Don’t touch my mom’s gift!”
I struggled and accidentally hit her leg.
She kicked me twice, picked up the broken necklace, and stuffed it in her pocket.
“Say one more word and I’ll rip your mouth apart.”
I trembled.
At HR’s office, Amber knocked sweetly. “Stacy, I caught the person who lost us the deal.”
HR director Stacy Miller shot me an annoyed look.
“Where’s your badge? What department? What’s your name?”
I shouted, “I’m thirteen years old! I don’t work here!”
Stacy frowned suspiciously. “Amber, what’s going on?”
Amber yanked me up. “Stacy, she’s lying! Look—she’s taller than me and dressed in designer clothes. No way she’s thirteen.”
She whispered something in Stacy’s ear.
Stacy slammed the table. “You lost the Chase Group deal? And pissed off Mr. Chase?”
Chase Group? That’s my cousin’s company. “Mr. Chase” is my cousin Nolan.
But I hadn’t seen him since last month’s family dinner.
I waved my hands frantically. “I don’t know anything about any deal. I’m just waiting for my dad to get off work.”
“Keep lying, you fake. Her parents are probably trash too. Like mother, like daughter.”
Amber lifted her chin, full of contempt.
I got so mad I shoved her.
