The Hollow Luna Who Got Betrayed Chapter 06
Nuah went silent for a few seconds before saying quietly, “That’s one thing I can’t guarantee, because I might die before you.”
“Why?” That sounded so strange. How could he die before me?
“Heart disease. I live one day at a time. My heart has been weak since birth, and the healer said it could stop at any moment.” His tone sounded careless, almost like a man with nothing to lose.
I sighed. I had not expected a Rogue as reckless as him to be carrying something like that.
“Then live a few more days. When I can’t make it anymore, I’ll donate my heart to you. My Omega heart is useless to me anyway. Without my womb and kidney, it won’t hold out for long.”
My heart was the only part of me still intact. I could treat it as my thanks to him for taking my case.
The other end went quiet for a long time, and Noah did not say a word.
The hospital room door was suddenly pushed open, and Lucas walked in with a deathly stillness on his face. His Alpha scent was almost gone, a sign that his mark had been erased.
The Alpha who had once stood at the top of the pack was now worth even less than an ordinary Beta.
I quickly hung up the phone.
I had thought that after I exposed everything, he would fly into a rage out of shame and that we would never see each other again, in life or in death.
But he did not seem to have much of a reaction. As always, he stationed himself by my bed and said flatly, “If
taking revenge on me makes you happier and eases your hatred, then I don’t mind being ruined. My wolf is
dead, and my Alpha title is gone. What else do you want?”
As he spoke, he arranged several meal containers neatly in front of me and picked up a spoon to feed me. “Eat something, okay? How is your body supposed to get better if you don’t eat?”
r I shook my head lightly and said with solemn calm, “Sign the mate-bond dissolution papers. Let me leave
cleanly.”
“I don’t want to hate you anymore either. It’s pointless. Let everything return to the dust where it belongs.”
Hatred was exhausting, too. This man was no longer worth even the smallest part of my strength. His wolf had died before mine. That was the greatest retribution.
Lucas stared at me in a daze. Silently, he picked up a cotton swab, dipped it in water, and moistened my dry lips. His eyes gradually reddened.
“Claire, you’re going to get better. Please hate me with everything you have. Take revenge on me. From now on, you can do anything you want, okay?”
He gripped my hand tightly, as if doing so could keep me here forever.
I looked at him calmly “I want to break the mate bond. The only wish I have left is to break the mate bond with you.”
Lucas lowered his head, and his voice turned hoarse. “You’ll never forgive me, will you?”
I scoffed. “What makes you think I would? Even after I turn to ash, I still won’t want to see you again.”
That was why I did not want a grave or a headstone. I only wanted my ashes scattered into the sea. I never
wanted to be haunted by him again.
The man’s face turned even more ashen. An Alpha who had lost his mark seemed to be borrowing even the
strength to stand.
With a loud bang, the hospital room door was shoved open, and Julia and Audrey stormed in, furious.
“You vicious little wolf-bitch. How dare you run your mouth online? I’ll beat you to death. I should never have given birth to you, you wretched burden.” Audrey raised her hand to strike me.
Lucas immediately stood and restrained her wrist, his face expressionless. His voice was cold. “I brought you, here because there is something serious to discuss. If you raise those claws at her again, I’ll chop them off for you. I may no longer be an Alpha, but killing a Beta is still more than easy enough.”
Through the haze, I thought I heard the sound of bone cracking, followed by a shriek like a pig being
slaughtered.
Julia looked at him in disbelief. Clutching her chest, she put on a wounded expression. “Lucas, what is wrong with you? She ruined both of us. Do you know that? Because of her, I miscarried. My chest hurts so much. My womb-no, her womb-couldn’t keep that pup alive.”
The man’s expression hardened with a deep, icy coldness. He said flatly, “That womb was hers to begin with. If you miscarried, you deserved it. Of course something that never belonged to you couldn’t carry a pup
of the Northern bloodline.”
Julia looked as if his words had shattered her. She collapsed into the chair beside her, grabbed Lucas’s hand, and demanded through delicate, pitiful tears, “Lucas, did you call me here just to show me how deeply bonded you two are? Now that you feel guilty toward her, you’re hurting me like this? Your mark is gone. What can you even give her anymore?”
As she spoke, she shot me an angry look, as if I were the one who had stolen Lucas away.
How completely absurd.
With a cold expression, Lucas shook off her hand and studied her, his eyes slowly darkening. “I called you here because I need you both to undergo a physical exam.”
Julia froze for a moment, then delight rose in her eyes again. “Really? I knew you still loved me.”
“The healer told you, didn’t he? After the miscarriage, my heart and lung function started declining. Are you going to transplant her heart into me? Her Omega body won’t last much longer anyway.’
As she spoke, she looked at me again with smug satisfaction, as if she were studying prey.
‘You’re going to die soon anyway. You might as well die with some value. Your wolf is going to die anyway,
o why not donate your whole body to me?”
