He Never Ran Out of Words—Just for Me Chapter 09
After that day, he stopped showing up outside my studio.
Instead, he changed his tactics.
He went straight to my mother, bringing expensive skincare sets to her house and begging her to talk sense into me, claiming he had just been stupid and made a mistake.
My mother actually fell for it, calling me shortly after to plead his case.
“Hannah, I think Garrett is genuinely remorseful this time.”
“It’s not like he actually cheated on you, and after seven years together…”
“Mom!”
I cut her off. “Cheating isn’t just about sleeping with someone. His heart was never with me.”
“We are divorced, and I am never getting back with him.”
“Did you forget that he used to hate it when you even stepped foot inside our place?”
“If he ever shows up at your house again, slam the door in his face.”
Hanging up the phone, I rubbed my temples, completely exhausted.
Julian knocked gently on the door and walked into my office.
“Hannah, your assistant just notified me. Did Garrett go to your parents’ house?”
“I’ve already asked some friends back home to keep an eye out. If he shows up again, someone will intervene.”
A wave of warmth and relief washed over me. “Thank you, Mr. Yates.”
“Just call me Julian,” he said, taking a seat across from me.
“Whenever you need anything, I’m right here.”
I nodded, shifting my focus back to my work.
But Garrett wasn’t done. He decided to use his online platform to pull a massive public stunt to win me back.
Just like the way he used to chase Vivian in college, he started an IG Live holding a massive bouquet of roses and posted videos broadcasting his love.
The internet absolutely ate it up.
Random people online were deeply moved by his “pure sincerity”.
Overnight, he turned himself into the ultimate golden standard of a devoted ex.
Someone even created a viral cartoon illustration of him to spread the story.
My best friend was the one filling me in.
Looking at the circus, I felt nothing but relief that I was miles away across the country.
At least I didn’t have to witness his sickening, desperate little comedy routine in person.
