I Saw The Comments Calling Me Evil And Realized I Was Pregnant Chapter 08
Time flew by quickly.
In the blink of an eye, I was six months pregnant.
My belly grew bigger day by day, and Nash was even more nervous than I was.
He stopped making me take etiquette lessons, refused to let me touch anything heavy, and insisted on holding onto me even when I was just walking around.
When I told him I wasn’t a porcelain doll, he glared at me, “You’re my wife, so you are a porcelain doll.”
We weren’t even married yet, and he was already calling me his wife.
[This is too sweet, I’m dying!]
[The ML’s wife-spoiling trait is completely maxed out.]
[But has Lilith’s case been sentenced yet?]
[Don’t worry. There’s no escaping for her.]
One day, Nash went to the company to handle some corporate business, leaving me home alone.
Suddenly, my phone rang.
It was a call from Lilith’s lawyer, stating that Lilith wanted to see me because she had something crucial to say.
After a moment of hesitation, I decided to go.
Inside the detention center, Lilith had lost a significant amount of weight, her eyes sunken and completely stripped of her former radiance.
Seeing me, the corner of her mouth twitched, “You came.”
“What do you want to say?”
“Khloe, do you really think you’ve won?” She let out a cold laugh, “The Rothschild family will never fully accept you. Do you know why Nash ended up at a construction site after losing his memory?”
“Because that’s exactly how his grandfather built his fortune, and his father started from the bottom, too. The Rothschilds care about capability, not feelings.”
“What’s your point?”
“My point is, you’re just a nurse. No credentials. No background. He’s nice to you today, but what about tomorrow? Can you back him up in the corporate arena? Can you handle schmoozing with his business partners for him?”
I remained silent for a few seconds.
“I can’t,” I looked directly at her, “But I can learn.”
Lilith froze for a moment, then let out a hollow, twisted laugh. “Learn? Do you honestly think you can learn all that?”
“Whether I can learn it or not is my own business,” I stood up, “Lilith, I used to think I couldn’t do anything right either, and that I could only rely on men.”
“But these past few months have taught me one thing-nobody is born knowing how to do everything, it just depends on whether you’re willing to learn.”
“Your downfall today isn’t because of me, it’s because of yourself. You hurt too many people, and it’s time to pay the price.”
I turned around and walked away.
Stepping out of the detention center, the sunlight was blinding.
I gently touched my belly. “Baby, Mommy is going to work really hard now. We can’t let your daddy carry the weight all by himself.”
From that day on, I threw myself into studying like crazy.
I hired private tutors to teach me French, business management, and finance.
I studied through the day and into the night, refusing to stop even when my head throbbed with pain.
Nash felt bad for me and told me not to push myself too hard.
I shook my head, “No, I refuse to be a liability to you.”
He let out a heavy sigh, pulling me tightly into his arms, “You’re not a liability. You’re my entire life.”
[The villainess is really growing up!]
[From a vain, pretty idiot to a hardworking mom!]
[Now this is the kind of character development I love!]
