The freezing ocean swallowed me instantly.
The sudden lack of air made my head spin, and the world around me began to blur.
Somewhere far away, I thought I heard someone calling my name. It also felt like a beam of light rushing toward me. My mind couldn’t focus anymore. I tried to open my eyes, but exhaustion dragged me
down.
“Josephine! Wake up!
“Josie! Josephine!”

My consciousness slowly returned.
When my vision cleared, I finally saw the person in front of me.
It was Preston.
He was completely soaked, his brows tightly furrowed. When he saw that I was awake, he let out a long breath and collapsed onto the deck.
“Cough, cough…”
After coughing violently for a while, I stared at him.
Compared to the awkward young man I had met years ago on the streets of Germany, Preston had changed a lot. He looked far more
mature now, carrying the quiet authority of someone who was used to being in charge. Even drenched from head to toe, he still carried himself with effortless confidence.
“I thought you weren’t coming… How did you even find me?”
Preston took a moment to catch his breath before sitting up.
“Your phone had no signal, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t track it. From now on, Josephine Calloway from the past is gone. I’m taking you to New York City, where you can start over.”
New York City was a place that would snow on New Year’s Day.
It was a city completely different from the place where I had lived for more than 20 years.

The New Year festivities were even stronger there.

It was obvious that Preston had quietly pushed things forward, throwing both the Calloway family and the Collins family straight into the center of the storm.

An edited video was also released online. Everything that had happened to me during those months of imprisonment, control, and abuse was exposed to the public.
At the end of the video, the footage showed me jumping from the hospital rooftop into the ocean.
Caspian was shown leaning over the railing, screaming my name. The veins on his forehead bulged, and his eyes were red.
In the final clip, he slid down to the floor of the room behind him, looking like a hollow shell.
Someone commented, “Why is he pretending to care now? Isn’t he the one who pushed her to jump?”
“Guys like him are disgusting. Caspian Collins and Sabrina Keller both deserve to rot in hell.”
