I Played His Lover’s Husband Chapter 11
Dominic stepped closer, his gaze settling on my exposed skin with an almost physical weight.
His voice was unreadable.
“Estelle, this is quite the show Aren’t you going to introduce me?”
Back when I was still in love with Dominic, I used to wonder about this all the time.
If I ever truly fell for someone else, how would he react?
So this was it. Calm Indifferent. Almost effortless.
Not that it mattered now. I’d already let go. It didn’t hurt anymore.
I met his eyes. “You heard him. This is Aurora’s… ex-husband. And my boyfriend. Now.”
“Oh.” A smile touched Dominic’s lips-gentle, soft.
“So this is him. The clingy little boy you mentioned. The one begging for a title.”
Rhett stepped in front of me coldly.
“If you’ve got a problem, take it up with me.”
Dominic’s kick came out of nowhere.
Rhett stumbled back and hit the ground hard.
Before anyone could even process what happened, Dominic was already on top of him.
Aurora let out a frightened scream, and I shot to my feet instantly.
For all his polished, playboy charm, Dominic was ruthless to the bone.
He gave a faint smile, but his expression stayed cold.
“I’m talking to my fiancée Who said you could interrupt?”
He swung again Rhett blocked it with his bare hand.
Rhett knew how to fight
Dominic caught him off guard at first, but he recovered quickly.
Within seconds, the two of them were throwing punches at each other
I tried to break it up, but they were past listening-both of them blind with rage.
Then I saw Dominic’s fist aiming straight for Rhett’s eye. My heart seized.
I didn’t think. The wine glass just left my hand, hurtling toward Dominic.
I rushed forward and pulled Rhett up anxiously. “Are you hurt?”
Rhett shook his head, eyes soft, reassuring me without words.
Then Aurora’s scream cut through. “Dominic, you’re bleeding…”
With that, I finally turned to him.
He shoved Aurora away
Blood slid down the side of his face from his forehead, while shattered glass had cut a thin line across his
cheek
Dominic had always been elegant and composed.
The last time I had ever seen him this disheveled was five years ago.
Back then, we had just gotten engaged.
His father had just died, and the Harrington family was already falling apart from the inside.
On top of that, his uncle Victor invited him to a so-called family dinner that was obviously a setup.
He detained Dominic at the old estate and forced him to hand over power.
On the surface, I pressured Victor with business maneuvers.
Behind the scenes, I kidnapped his precious child.
When Victor finally showed up with Dominic to make the trade, his face was thunderous.
“A knife that’s too sharp can be a dangerous thing, Dominic,” he’d warned. “One day, you might just cut your
own hand”
Of course I understood exactly what he meant.
I held Dominic’s hand and smiled calmly.
“Don’t worry. My blades only ever point outward.”
I’d always been ruthless to outsiders and fiercely protective of my own. That principle had never wavered.
The only difference now was that Dominic had become the outsider.
Dominic’s expression darkened terribly
“Playing around is one thing. But you’ve had your fun, Estelle. Now it’s time to come home.”
