My Ex Walked Into My Flowershop After I Faked My Death Chaptre 08

Fur weeks, the Thorne Carter feud dominated every trending list online.

Kael used every dollar and every connection to launch a hostile takeover against Carter Group.

In just two weeks, Carter’s cash flow collapsed. All core projects halted. The company faced liquidation.

Everyone online talked in circles. No one understood why two families on the verge of marriage had turned on each other.

But none of that mattered to me anymore.

I rented a small apartment with Jax and healed my hand in peace.

One day I stumbled on a yoga video.

I looked in the mirror. I wasn’t fat, but nothing like my old slim, toned self.

Something stirred in me. I started following the videos.

Having been a model,

  1. knew exactly how to control my muscles.

I posted videos of my tips and cues online. To my surprise, they went viral.

Thousands of girls and moms struggling with body image commented asking for

advice.

I replied to every one, telling them gently to love and accept their bodies no matter

what.

Soon after, a high–end yoga loft offered me an instructor job with an incredible salary.

It was far more stable than running a flower shop.

Life got better day by day.

On the day I got my first paycheck, I was so happy I bought Jax his favorite Ultraman toy.

But the peaceful life shattered a month later, during a private class.

I was demonstrating a pose when Lila burst through the door, stumbling and wild.

Everyone screamed when they saw her.

Lila wore a dirty white dress, her face wrapped in thick bandages.

Dark red blood seeped through the gauze. She looked terrifying.

“Elara Voss, why do you win?! WHY?!”

She laughed and cried at the same time, pointing at her ruined face, clearly insane.

“I cut my face myself! Sliced it to pieces!”

“If I get plastic surgery and look just like you, Kael will love me again! He’ll marry me! Right?!”

I felt nothing but pity and disgust watching her unravel.

I didn’t waste words on a madwoman. I dismissed my students and called Kaet immediately.

“Lila’s losing her mind at my yoga loft. Come get your mess before she ruins my business.”

Less than fifteen minutes later, Kael arrived with bodyguards.

Lila’s eyes lit up when she saw him. She threw herself at him.

“Kael, look at my face! I’m ruined too! Look at me!”

But Kael didn’t spare her a single glance.

He shoved her aside and rushed to me, checking me over frantically.

“Elara, are you hurt?”

That total disregard

was the final straw.

“Bitch! Why does he only look at you?! I’ll ruin that face again!”

She screamed shrilly, pulling a shard of broken glass from her pocket and slashing at me.

“DIE! DIE! DIE-

It happened too fast.

I tried to dodge, but a tall figure stepped in front of me without hesitation.

A sharp, wet thud.

Kael grunted. Ignoring his own wound, he grabbed the glass barehanded to stop her from attacking again.

Blood gushed out, dripping onto the floor.

Bodyguards swarmed in and pinned the screaming Lila to the ground.

“Call the police.”

Kael’s jaw tightened, his eyes ice–cold.

“Give them evidence of her attempted assault. And get a psychiatrist. She should spend the rest of her life in a psychiatric facility.”
