My Ex Walked Into My Flowershop After I Faked My Death Chaptre 10

Two years later, in a warm, quiet coastal city in the South.

I’d opened my own private yoga studio and hired a few instructors. My business

thrived.

My body, once stiff and worn down by life, had come back to life with daily practice and movement.

After class, I changed into a light sundress and took Jax to buy–mango cake.

“Mommy, look over there!”

Jax pointed across the street.

At the corner sat a black Rolls–Royce with Westbrook Heights plates.

A man in a black shirt leaned against the car, holding white baby’s breath. He was only thirty, but he looked

hollow, dead inside.

“It’s that mister, right?”

Jax looked up at me quietly.

Kael saw me and light flooded his eyes. He strode over quickly, voice urgent.

“Elara, I booked the best plastic surgery team in the world. If you want, they can give you your old face back…”

“Jax,” I said suddenly, cutting him off. “Do you think/Mommy is pretty?”

The boy blinked, then grinned wide.

“Super pretty! You’re the prettiest mommy in the whole world!”

I smiled faintly and looked at Kael with quiet disdain.

“Thank you, Mr. Thorne. I appreciate the offer. I love my face now. Jax loves it too. Please stop following me. Don’t dream I’ll ever go back to who I was.”

Kael forced a smile, still trying to lie to himself.

“You’re stubborn. You won’t forgive me that easily. It’s my fault. I’m rushing. Just give me a little more time…”

I didn’t answer. I took the white baby’s breath from his hand and walked past him.

His face paled slowly. He knelt down and covered his face, crying silently.

Jax whispered in confusion.

“Why is mister crying? Is he coming back tomorrow?”

I stared straight ahead, my tone calm.

“No.”

When we got home, I put the flowers in a vase and set it on the dining table.

To white baby’s breath. To hopeless love.

To the past. To new beginnings. To the woman who would never look back.
