My Sister Stole My Life After Reading the Comments Chapter 09

Nancy snorted. “I knew it, Nadia. I kept saying you got your past grades by cheating, didn’t I? Now that the midterms are being strictly proctored, your tricks are useless. That’s why your true colors are finally showing.”

After she said that, the way Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd looked at me changed. Mr. Lloyd was a college professor, and if there was one thing he despised, it was cheating.

He scoffed harshly. “Before this, Eugene called and told me there was a girl in his class with outstanding grades. I trusted his judgment, but it’s clear he misread you very badly. Do the decent thing. I won’t ask you to return the two million you took, but you’re not to take another step into our home from now on.”

Eugene rushed to defend me. “Mom, Dad, you’ve got it wrong! There’s no way Nadia cheated. She’s been tutoring me this whole time; I wouldn’t have the grades I have now without her. If anyone’s score is fake, it’s Nancy’s!”

Nancy’s expression twisted, and she started weeping. “Eugene, I know Nadia used some sort of trick to bewitch you, but you can’t slander me just to defend her. All of you know that she and I are biological sisters.

“Back when we were at the orphanage, she used these same tricks to hook the boys there. Now that she’s been adopted, she hasn’t changed her ways. Don’t be like those people-don’t let her fool you!”

Mrs, Lloyd slammed her cutlery down on the table when she heard that. Her stance couldn’t have been clearer.

Eugene grabbed my hand, panicked. “Nadia, say something! Explain it to them! Tell them you’re not like that!”

Just as I opened my mouth, the comments flowed before my eyes again.

[Hahaha! Nadia, the idiot that she is, will never know that Nancy already swapped their test scores ages ago!]

[So what if she does find out now? She doesn’t have any proof. Nancy’s methods were clean and flawless!]

I paused for a second and looked straight at Nancy, who was openly taunting me. I might not be able to uncover anything myself, but that didn’t mean no one could.

I turned to look at Mr. Lloyd. “Mr. Lloyd, I heard you’re a college math professor. How about you give me a few problems-some from high school level, some from college level, and some from your own area of expertise-and I solve them? If I can’t do it, I promise that starting today, I won’t step foot in your house ever again.”

Mr. Lloyd let out a cold chuckle. “Fine. I’ll give you a chance.”

He wrote out three problems for me.

Off to the side, Nancy sneered. “What are you still struggling for, Nadia? Your dirty tricks have already been exposed. How dare you ask for college level problems when you can’t even handle high school material?”

Almost as soon as the words were out of her mouth, I handed the paper to Mr. Lloyd.

When he finished going through my solutions, his eyes widened in shock. Then, he said to the butler, “Go check the school’s exam records right now. There’s definitely something wrong with those scores! There’s no way Nadia would only score 70 out of 100!”
