The Alpha Didn’t Repent Until I Was Gone Chapter 03
Everyone backed out.
Even Vera left after I told her to.
The second the door shut, Eloise leaned down close to my ear.
“Dear sister, do you still remember the first night the Alpha chose me over his bonded mate?”
I closed my eyes.
Of course I remembered.
Back then, Sebastian and I had been stupidly in love.
For him, I’d even given up my first chance to leave this werewolf world through the System because I wanted to stay.
Then that night happened.
I heard servants whispering that he’d ignored our bond and slept with the sister I hated most.
I ran to the master bedroom like I’d gone insane.
The room was a wreck.
Torn clothes everywhere. Two clear handprints on the vanity mirror.
That mirror had been my twentieth birthday gift. He’d had it custom-made for me in Richmond.
After that night, I cried. I screamed. I locked myself away and stopped eating.
And in the end, I still believed his excuse.
“It was an accident during Alpha heat. I’m sorry.”
Eloise laughed.
Sharp. Mean. Smug.
“Dear sister, you didn’t really believe that, did you?”
“He was fully awake that night. He sent all the maids away himself and called me into his room through the mind link.”
“As for your five babies, our brother said they died exactly how they were supposed to. You should be happy for them.”
My eyes flew open.
I didn’t know where the strength came from, but I threw myself off the bed and grabbed her by the hair.
“Eloise Kessick, if all five of my babies are dead, then you and the bastard in your belly can die too!”
“I’ll drag you to hell with them!”
I yanked her hair and slammed her head against the stone floor again and again.
She screamed.
“Help! Help!”
Then she clutched her stomach and shrieked, “Sebastian! Save me! My stomach!”
The door flew open with a violent kick.
Sebastian rushed in and pulled her into his arms.
The eyes that used to look at me with love were now full of rage and disgust.
“Olivia Kessick, you lunatic!”
“Drag her outside!”
“Make her kneel in the snow for six hours. She is not allowed to get up.”
I had just lost my baby. I could barely stand.
It didn’t matter.
The guards still dragged me outside and forced me to my knees in the snow.
The cold came in hard waves.
I didn’t even have the strength to wipe the snow off my hair.
Then I heard someone inside the castle shout, “This is bad! Miss Eloise drank medicine mixed with wolfsbane! The baby might not survive!”
And just like that, I got it.
She’d done it before she ever came to my room.
She poisoned herself first.
Then came to bait me.
“Olivia!”
Julian rushed out with red eyes and shoved a bottle in my face.
“Was this you?”
“You evil woman!”
“We found a bottle with wolfsbane residue under your bed. What do you have to say now?”
“You actually tried to kill Eloise’s baby!”
