The Alpha Didn’t Repent Until I Was Gone Chapter 08

The next page opened in the master bedroom.

Eloise sat on a soft couch, one hand resting over her stomach.

The bump wasn’t even showing yet, but she already acted like the baby was the center of the world.

The room was warm, full of firelight and heavy laurel scent.

When Sebastian walked in, she smiled and tried to stand.

“Alpha, you’re finally here. The baby’s been acting up all day. He probably wants to see his father…”

Sebastian stopped by the door.

Snow melted off him and dripped to the floor.

“Alpha?”

He walked over to her slowly.

Then he threw a stack of signed testimonies in her face.

Eloise flinched.

Her whole body started shaking.

“Alpha, those servants are lying to save themselves! Olivia was jealous because I was pregnant. She wanted

to kill our baby!”

She burst into tears and reached for him.

Sebastian kicked her hard in the shoulder.

“Even now, you’re still acting?”

Then he bent down and gripped her chin.

“When you watched those five pups turn into blood, were you happy?”

Eloise looked into his eyes and knew there was no way out.

So she stopped crying.

Then she laughed.

“Yes. I did it. So what?”

Her eyes were wild.

“Why shouldn’t I? Olivia lived above everyone else for twenty years. What about me? I was the lowest wolf at

the edge of the pack.”

“If my mother’s tribe hadn’t risen, I never would’ve even had the chance to step into this castle.”

Sebastian swayed where he stood.

Eloise pointed at her own belly and smiled.

“Those five bastards deserved to die. Only after they were gone could my child get the most out of everything.”

“Even if you kill me now, they’re not coming back.”

Julian finally snapped.

He tore the silver sword from a guard’s hand and pressed it to her throat.

“Eloise Kessick, do you even have a heart?”

“A heart?” she spat. “Brother, where was your heart when you fed her the potion that ended her pregnancy?”

“Don’t act like the loving brother now. The person least qualified to judge me is you.”

Julian froze.

The sword fell from his hand.

Then he started slapping himself over and over.

Crack.

The sound echoed through the room.

“Olivia, it’s my fault. It’s all my fault…”

“Brother was wrong. Please come back…”

Eloise laughed even harder.

Then her laughter cut off.

Blood spread down her dress and soaked into the carpet.

Her face turned white.

She grabbed her stomach and screamed.

“My baby! My baby!”

The whole Alpha residence exploded into chaos.

I kept reading with a blank face.

The old healer was dragged over.

One look at her, and sweat started pouring down him.

Sebastian stood in the middle of the wreckage and didn’t move.

Didn’t look at Eloise.

Didn’t look at Julian.

He just stared toward the doorway like he was waiting for someone who would never come back.

Finally the healer said it.

“Alpha… Miss Eloise went into premature labor. The baby is gone.”

“And the silver poison backlash destroyed her womb.”

“She’ll never conceive again.”

Eloise lost it.

She lunged at the healer and grabbed his collar.

“You liar! You useless quack! I’m the future Luna! I’m supposed to be the mistress of the Ravencroft Pack!”

She was babbling. Screaming. Completely losing her mind.

Sebastian walked over.

Silent and cold.

“Luna… right. I’m Luna…” she muttered, crawling toward him. “Make me Luna now. Once you do, the baby will

come back. He’ll come back…”

Sebastian stepped back and avoided her hand.

Then he gave the order.

“Take her away.”

“Throw her into the deepest dungeon under the Ravencroft Pack.”

“She never comes out.”

The maids dragged her toward the door while she screamed and begged.

Julian stayed on his knees and didn’t move at all.
