The Blood Heiress They Sent to Her Death Chapter 05

“No need for later investigation. I will prove, right here, right now, that I had nothing whatsoever to do with my mother’s death!”

The Elder on his throne paused. He studied me for a long moment, then flicked his hand release her.

But before I could speak, Corvin lunged forward. “ENOUGH! Seraphina the evidence, the witnesses -everything stands against you! How much longer will you twist and squirm?”

He broadcast righteous fury across his face. “First you stole Mira’s bloodright. Then you betrayed this House

to its enemies. And now we learn you murdered our Lady Elara herself. A creature of your depravity deserves the Final Death a hundred times!”

“GUARDS! What are you waiting for?! Take her!”

“DEFIANCE! Let any man touch me and see what follows!”

Then I spoke -as fast as words could leave my lips -“Father! Old Marta and Mira both hail from the Ashford borderlands! They are not strangers -they are BLOOD KIN! Mother and daughter! Everything you have witnessed today is a play -scripted by them, with Corvin as the director!”

The assembly erupted. “What? Mira is not the Elder’s blood but the daughter of a servant?”

“But… the Blood Rite… Seraphina’s blood did not merge with the Elder’s…”

“Wait… Seraphina failed the Rite-but who here has proved that Mira would pass it?”

Corvin and his conspirators went the color of death. They had never imagined I would know about Old Martaand Mira.

Mira’s voice came out shrill, desperate. “Lies! I am the Elder’s blood -the true Blood Heiress! What connection could I possibly have to a servant? You are cornered and you know it -so you throw filth and hope it sticks!”

She turned to the Elder and clutched his arm, eyes red. “Father -please -have this murderer of my mother dragged away! Will you stand by while she slanders your true daughter?”

I fixed her with ice. “Slander? We shall see.”

I straightened, facing the Elder with my shoulders back. “Father, every servant who enters this House is documented. Their origin, their lineage, their blood ties all recorded. Let the scribes pull the records for Mira and Old Marta. If their ancestral origins match if they share the same village, the same bloodroot then you will know the truth”

The Elder’s gaze settled on Mira -heavy, measuring. She wilted under it. He spoke quietly to the chief scribe. “Bring me the origin records for this girl and the old woman Now.”

Mira’s face turned the color of ash. She swayed. Her eyes flew to Corvin help me.

Corvin’s eyes darted wildly. He lurched forward. “My Lord Seraphina is a master of misdirection! If you

indulge her now, you fall into her trap! I urge you -take her to the Cells immediately-

“Lord Corvin.” The Elder’s voice cut like a blade through silk. His expression was unreadable. “You overstep.”

Corvin froze solid. The words died in his throat unanswered.

The minutes stretched. Then the scribe’s apprentice came running, breathless. “My Lord -it is confirmed!

Mira and the servant Marta -they share the same origin, the same village, the same bloodroot!”
