My Ex Thought I Still Loved Him, I Was Already Married Rich Chapter 02

For one second, the air went silent.

Then the room exploded.

“Nora is married?”

“She dated Julian. Who else could she possibly want after him?”

“Maya, stop lying to cover for her. It’s pointless.”

Maya was so angry that her face turned red. She picked up her glass as if she was about to throw the wine.

“Do any of you know how to talk to people?”

I stopped her.

Then I gently tapped my glass against hers.

“Congratulations, babe. Happy wedding day.”

Today was supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life.

I did not want her to remember it as a public farce.

After the wedding ended, I left right away.

Outside the hotel, a black Maybach pulled up.

The butler stepped out, opened the door for me, and gave a slight bow.

“Mrs. Blackwood, Mr. Blackwood sent me to pick you up.”

Whispers rose behind me.

“Is that for real?”

“Did Nora really marry into money?”

“Maybe she hired the guy and rented the car.”

People who were not on my level did not deserve an explanation.

I was just about to get into the car when Julian called out to me.

“Nora.”

I turned around.

He stood on the steps, looking down at me from above.

“There’s no need for this.”

His expression was as arrogant as ever.

“It makes you look desperate.”

I looked at him for two seconds.

Then it suddenly occurred to me that the Nora who had kept compromising for him back then really had looked desperate.

I let out a soft scoff, got into the car, and rolled up the window.

Out of sight, out of mind.

That night, I received a call from my husband.

He said he wanted to transfer every asset under his name to me.

I froze for a moment. “You don’t have to.”

He went silent for two seconds. Then his voice dropped, tinged with a faint anger..

“What do you mean?”

“Do you think I’m not good enough for you?”

“Are you trying to divorce me?”

I was speechless.

He made such a fuss that I had no choice but to promise I would consult a lawyer about the asset transfer as soon as possible.

The next day, I went to a law firm.

The receptionist was checking my appointment.

Bored, I looked up.

I was a little nearsighted, so at first, all I saw was a tall man in a sharp suit walking toward me from the end of the hallway.

When he came closer, I realized it was Julian.

I turned to leave.

But he had already walked up to me and was looking straight at me.

His tone was still calm, but there was a trace of condescension in it.

“Nora, you’re twenty-eight, not eighteen.”

“Was it really necessary to chase me all the way to my office?”
