My Sister Stole My Life After Reading the Comments Chapter 05

I smirked and turned to Eugene. “By the way, Nancy lives next door to you guys, right?”

He nodded, confused about where I was going with this. “Yeah, why?”

I grabbed him and headed for the door. “Let’s go visit her.”

He was confused. “Aren’t you two on bad terms? Why would you wanna go to her place?”

I thought for a second, then said, “She’s actually my biological sister. We were adopted by different families, and I want to see

what her life is like now.”

In my last life, Nancy had caused Stephen and Linda to die a miserable death, and she’d stabbed me to death. She would be getting off easy if she just got beaten to death right now.

I would make her pay for all the suffering we went through in our last life a hunfiredfold. I would make sure she was tortured to death in the cage that was the Quill family.

[Something’s off. Why is Nadia suddenly going to check on Nancy?]

[Wait, can she see our comments or something?]

[No way. It has to be a coincidence. She probably just thinks her own house is too small and wants to go check out what Nancy’s place looks like.]

[Well, whatever. As long as Eugene goes over, Nancy still has a chance at survival!]

Eugene thought for a few seconds, then nodded and took me over to the Quill residence. He rang the doorbell.

When the housekeeper saw him, she lit up and welcomed him warmly, beckoning him to head inside. “Oh, it’s you, Mr. Lloyd. Please, come in. Have a seat in the living room.”

A few minutes later, Helen and her husband, David Quill, came downstairs. As they drew closer, I caught the faint metallic scent of blood on them.

The moment they saw Eugene and me, their eyes lit up, just as I’d expected.

Helen came over and took my hand. “You must be Nadia, right? Do you still remember me? We met at the orphanage last time.”

I smiled and nodded. “Yes, Mrs. Quill. I remember you.”

David cleared his throat and said, “I heard you scored the highest in this month’s exams. You’re an outstanding child.”

I glanced upstairs and deliberately asked, “Oh, right. Mr. and Mrs. Quill, why don’t I see Nancy?”

[Nancy’s in her room right now, hanging on by a thread. Eugene, go save her!]

[Hurry up! Get going, or Nancy is really gonna die!]

(If the female lead of the whole book dies, doesn’t that mean the story just ends?]

David and Helen exchanged a look, their expressions turning a little strained. “Nancy isn’t feeling well today. She’s already in

bed.”

Eugene nodded, then glanced at me, clearly ready to say his goodbyes. But I headed straight for the stairs.

I said, “I just remembered that Nancy asked me about a problem today and begged me to explain it to her. I should go up and talk her through it.”

The moment the words left my mouth, David and Helen hurried to stand in my way.

“Nadia, it’s too late today. Nancy’s already gone to bed,” Helen said hastily. “Maybe next time.”

At this point, Eugene finally sensed that something was wrong. He waited until David and Helen were distracted by me to bolt up to the second floor and rusk into Nancy’s room. The second he threw the door open, he found her lying in a pool of blood. She’d already passed out cold.

[What are you standing there for? Call an ambulance!]

[If you get her to the hospital now, she can still be saved!]
