The Hollow Luna Who Got Betrayed Chapter 03

It fell as if something barbed had rolled over my heart, and the pain stole the breath from my lungs. My Omega scent spiraled completely out of control, and even standing became difficult, but I gritted my teeth and forced myself upright.

“Lucas, I need to talk to you.”

“Whatever it is, we’ll talk later. Julia is hungry. Let’s go to your mother’s place for dinner first.”

My mother, Audrey Green, was the Beta who had given birth to me only so I could provide cord blood for Julia. She had already prepared a table full of Julia’s favorite dishes to celebrate her pregnancy.

Julia covered her nose and said she had no appetite, so Lucas suggested sending the housekeeper who took care of me to cook for her instead.

The corner of Julia’s mouth curved slightly as she pointed at me. “Maybe not. Claire doesn’t seem very happy about it, and I wouldn’t want you two fighting because of me.”

Audrey immediately glared at me and snapped, “You’re not pregnant. You have two hands and two feet, so why can’t you take care of yourself? You’ve been selfish your whole life. The second anyone asks you to do anything, you start whining that it hurts.”

“Your Omega body was weak to begin with If Iulia didn’t need you do you really think Lucas would have looked twice at you?”

My mother had given birth to me for the cord blood that could treat Julia’s illness. In her eyes, I was nothing more than a tool meant to heal Julia, and I was not allowed even the slightest disobedience. Even the reason my wolf had presented as an Omega was because Julia needed an Omega organ match.

I did not want to argue with her, so I put down my knife and fork and tried to go into my old bedroom for a

moment of quiet. Only then did I realize it had already been turned into a storage room.

Tears suddenly rolled down my face, and I wiped them away carelessly.

“Are you throwing a tantrum because of Lucas? Looks like you still don’t understand your place. Lucas and I

have years of history. That isn’t something you get to come between. His mark was fake from the very beginning. Couldn’t you feel it?”

Julia followed me in, her tone so proud it was as if she were the real Luna.

I gave a mocking laugh. “Then why didn’t you seal the mate bond with him back then?”

The smile at the corner of her lips deepened. “Because what a man can’t have is always what he wants most.

I wanted him to keep thinking about me forever and be my shelter for the rest of my life. His wolt only recognizes me. You’re nothing but a vessel.”

For a moment, I had no words. I stared at her belly in a daze, and before I realized it, my hand had reached

out to touch it.

Julia’s smile grew even more smug. She leaned close to my ear and whispered, “Jealous? Too bad you’ll never

have a pup again in this life, because your womb is inside me.”

“I heard losing a womb is miserable. You have to take hormone medication for the rest of your life, and the side effects are awful. Your Omega scent will grow weaker and weaker until it disappears completely, and you’ll become a useless, sexles’s shell with no Omega traits left. When I told Lucas that, he was afraid I would suffer, so he immediately said he would help me.”

“That’s why he sealed the mate bond with you and kept you pacified. Oh, and he also said my health has always been fragile, so he needed to keep you in good shapejust in case. You should be thanking me. Your only value is being my vessel. In this world, no one loves you at all.”

My fingers dug hard into my palm. I raised my hand to slap her, but the door was suddenly pushed open.

Lucas stood in the doorway, furious. His Alpha pressure crashed down like a mountain as he rushed over and gripped my wrist hard. “What are you doing? How could you hit Julià?”

I gave a cold, mocking smile. “What, does it hurt to see her like this? If you care about her so much, why didn’t you make her your mate?”

I had never spoken to him so sharply before. He froze for a moment and was about to say something.

Julia suddenly clutched her stomach, her face twisted in pain. “Please don’t fight because of me. This is all my fault. I upset Claire. I deserved it when Claire hit me. I don’t want the housekeeper anymore. Please, Claire, don’t hit me again.”

Her Omega scent released a distress signal, and Lucas’s Alpha instincts were triggered at once.

Lucas’s expression darkened sharply as he looked at me. “Claire Green, apologize.”

I clenched both hands so tightly that my nails nearly sank into my skin. It was the only way I could stop myself from trembling. My wolf had already gone numb. It no longer fought. It only waited quietly for death,

“You want me to apologize? Lucas, do you even know what happened?”

“Enough!” Lucas cut me off. “Claire, I’m so disappointed in you. When did you become like this? This is Julia. Even if you’re jealous of her, you had no right to raise a hand against her.”

After saying that, he did not even spare me another glance. He picked Julia up and carried her out, giving her the kind of care he had never once given me.

I saw Julia bury her face against Lucas’s shoulder and smile at me with the smug look of a winner.

But she could no longer hurt me.

I would never care about this man again, not even a little. My wolf had already decided to sever every

connection to him, even if his false mark still lingered in my body.

I took a cab home to pack my things, only to receive a sudden WhatsApp message from Lucas.

Lucas: [Julia is very upset right now. I’ll give you one more chance. Come over tonight and apologize on your own. Don’t make me send the pack warriors to come for you. You know what an Alpha’s command means.]

His tone left no room for argutent, as if he had already decided I was beyond redemption.

He even told me to buy Julia a gift to make amends.

What he did not know was that my bags were already packed.

I called a cab and went straight to the airport.

In the car, I sent him one last WhatsApp message.

I replied: [All right. I’ll send one hell of a gift.]

After sending it, I pulled out my SIM card, snapped it in half, rolled down the window, and threw it out, letting everything disappear into the wind. My Omega scent drifted north one final time, toward the Northern Pack, then fell completely silent.

Early the next morning, an urgent package was delivered to the Northern Pack’s offices.

Lucas opened the parcel, and a thin sheet of paper slipped out, along with my medical report and the mate-bond dissolution notice I had initiated on my own.

He only glanced at it before his face went ashen. With trembling hands, he grabbed his phone and made a

call.

No one answered.

His Alpha wolf suddenly let out a howl of agony. He could feel it now. My scent had vanished completely

from every corner of the city.
