Used, Betrayed, Gone Chapter 05 (Continue)
From that day on, my life felt like living in a cage.
I had no internet access on my phone and wasn’t allowed to make outgoing calls.
Even when I went to the bathroom, female bodyguards assigned by Caspian stood nearby, watching me.
On the surface, I acted like I had accepted my situation, but deep down, I never stopped looking for a way out.
One day, my phone suddenly connected to the internet for a brief moment. A photo from Sabrina popped up on the screen.
In the picture, she was wearing the silk robe I had bought, lying on the bed in Caspian’s bedroom that I had personally chosen.
The neckline hung open, revealing dark hickeys scattered across her collarbone.
More messages appeared beneath the photo.
“These are the marks Cas left. A woman like you who gets passed around by gigolos wouldn’t understand.”
Blood rushed to my head, and my body began shaking.
Despite that, I forced myself to stay calm. Taking advantage of the brief internet connection, I quickly sent a message to Preston Fraser
asking for help-the man I had once helped while studying abroad in Germany.
Preston was the sole heir of the Fraser family in New York City.
Back then, after I helped him, he promised he would return the favor someday.
I hadn’t expected much. To my surprise, the reply came instantly. The message contained only three words. “Wait for me.”
The internet disconnected the moment the message arrived.
I had no idea when he would come, so I kept all my identification documents on me at all times, ready to run the moment an opportunity appeared.
I had just finished gathering my things when the bedroom door was kicked open.
Dad and Jeremiah stormed inside, looking furious.
“Rina got so angry after receiving your message that she almost lost the baby. You’re going to the hospital right now to apologize to her!”
Before I could even react, they shoved me into the car.
At the hospital, Jeremiah grabbed my hair and ignored my struggle as he forced me into the room.
Sabrina was curled up in Caspian’s arms, tears streaming down her face.
At that moment, something inside me finally broke. The betrayal from my family, the manipulation from the man I loved, and all the emotions I had been holding back for so long came crashing down at
once.
I lunged forward and wrapped both hands around Sabrina’s throat with all my might.
“Josephine Calloway, have you lost your mind?”
Caspian’s heart tightened when he saw Sabrina struggling to breathe.
He kicked me away hard and shouted coldly, “You’re being asked to apologize. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?”
“She started it!” I yelled, completely losing control. “Why should I apologize to her?”
I lifted my head stubbornly, my eyes burning red.
“Josie, why do you always treat me like this?” Sabrina lowered her eyes, looking pitiful. “Do you want to push me to the point where I have no choice but to die?
“I only wanted to keep everyone from being dragged into trouble because of you. Why are you lying about me?”
Caspian’s expression darkened instantly. “Josephine, you’ve gone way too far this time. Sabrina almost lost the baby. You need to be punished.”
He lowered his head and looked at Sabrina, his voice turning gentle. “Rina, what do you want to do with her?”
Sabrina’s eyes filled with cruel satisfaction.
“Strip her naked and make her stand on the rooftop for three hours.”
I stared at her in disbelief.
Jeremiah hesitated for a moment and said quietly, “It’s winter. Having her spend three hours out in the cold could be dangerous—”
Caspian cut him off immediately, “Do you have a problem with that?”
Jeremiah fell silent and didn’t dare say another word.
I slowly closed my eyes. The last bit of hope I had was gone.
They pushed me onto the rooftop and tore my clothes off like I wasn’t even human.
The wind coming off the ocean was brutal and cut straight through
Suddenly, I shoved the people around me aside and ran toward the edge facing the sea.
“Stop!”
Someone shouted behind me. Hands reached out, trying to grab me.
However, I jumped without hesitation.
