Used, Betrayed, Gone Chapter 04 (Continue)

When I woke up, the internet had already turned against me.

Insults flooded in from all directions, each one cutting deeper than the last until it felt like my chest was being crushed.

My life had completely fallen apart.

Even barely holding on felt like more than I could manage.

Later, Caspian hosted an anniversary dinner to reinforce his image as the devoted boyfriend.

Ironically, every guest at the event looked more polished and put together than I did, even though I was supposed to be the center of the celebration.

Whispers drifted through the crowd, dripping with mockery. “Did you see the trending news? The Calloway family went to all that trouble to get their daughter into Mr. Collins’ bed, and she still ended up sleeping with a gigolo. Thinking about how arrogant she used to act is honestly hilarious.”

“No kidding. I watched the full video myself. It was wild. The day Mr. Collins dumps her, I’m definitely taking a turn.”

“These days, you can get your chance if you’re willing to pay.”

I clenched my teeth and walked away from the crowd, heading toward the quiet garden outside.

Sabrina followed me.

“Josie, you should just accept reality. You can’t win against the Calloway family, and you definitely can’t win against the Collins family. You might as well play your part and be the puppet. Cas won’t treat you badly.”

I looked at her coldly.

“You’re just a cheating slut. What exactly are you so proud of?”

Her expression stiffened for a moment before a smile slowly spread across her face.

“You’ll find out soon enough what I’m proud of.”

Without warning, she shoved me down the staircase.

The pain was so intense it felt like the air had been knocked straight out of my lungs.

Through my blurred vision, I saw Caspian running toward us.

For a split second, I actually thought he was coming to help me.

However, Sabrina threw herself into his arms, crying, “Cas, Josie rushed over and tried to hit me. I panicked and pushed her away by accident.”

Caspian immediately removed his coat and draped it over her bare shoulders.

“Don’t worry,” he said, his voice low and gentle. “I’m here now.

Then, he walked toward me and looked down at me from above. “You don’t look that badly hurt. You can get yourself to the hospital, right?”

I struggled to my feet while blood continued running down from the wound on my forehead.

“Caspian, I’m calling the police. Sabrina intentionally pushed me!”

He froze for a moment, clearly surprised by my response.

His brows slowly tightened.

I continued speaking in a calm voice, “Unless you let me leave, I’m done covering for you.”

“Leave?”

Caspian let out a laugh, amused by my response.

He stepped closer, wiped the blood from my cheek with his finger, then slowly licked it from his fingertip in a disturbingly casual

manner.

“You’re just a puppet. You don’t get to make choices.”

After saying that, he wrapped his arm around Sabrina, preparing to leave.

Just before leaving, he added, “Go ahead and call the police if you want. The cameras here weren’t even turned on. Without evidence, all you’ll have is an accusation.”
