After He Lost His Memory, He Loved Me Chapter 02

The next morning, I woke up all groggy, shuffled to the bathroom in my slippers, and immediately covered my eyes.

“Oh! Sorry!”

I speed-walked out and closed the door.

Then I stopped.

Wait… why was I being so shy?

We’re legally married.

That tall, broad-shouldered, perky man in there?

I had every right to look at him.

I was still overthinking when the door opened.

Leo was standing there with my little Shin-chan towel wrapped around his waist.

Water was still dripping off him, wet hair falling over his forehead.

He looked me up and down.

“You coming in?”

Inside, I was screaming.

But on the outside, I kept it classy.

“Sure!

I’m gonna be late for work, so we can squeeze in together.”

We’d been married over half a year, and this was our first time brushing our teeth together.

In the mirror, he was shirtless.

The lines of his muscles were just barely visible…

Let me count… one, two, three, four, five…

“Why is your face so red?”

“Oh, I’m, uh… having an allergic reaction.”

To your abs.

“You okay with that?”

I almost said what I was really thinking.

I touched my nose.

“It’s fine.

I can power through.”

You know, by looking more often.

After that, he saw me frantically putting on makeup in front of the mirror and asked, “Want me to drive you?”

“Sure!”

Apparently, Leo with amnesia was super thoughtful.

I got into his van, and he pulled up the navigation.

“Bella, send me your office address.”

My face fell.

He caught my expression in the rearview mirror.

“What’s wrong?”

“What did you just call me?”

“Bella?”

Then it clicked.

He turned red, cleared his throat, and said, “S-sweetheart.

Send me your office address.”

“Good boy, you big softie.”

I typed the address into his iMessage.

When I got out of the car, I knocked on his window.

He rolled it down, and I leaned in and kissed his slightly red cheek.

“Thanks, you big softie.”

I’d been at this ad agency for years.

Not exactly a senior, but I ran a team.

Got along fine with everyone.

No sooner had I sat down than Zoe wheeled her chair over, looking like the cat that got the cream.

“Miss Moore, was that your husband dropping you off this morning?”

“Yeah.”

She shoved her phone in my face.

“I saw you two at Saks Fifth Avenue last month.

Your husband is so handsome.

You guys look great together!

I called your name a few times, but you didn’t answer…”

Saks Fifth Avenue?

I glanced at the photo and froze.

The man in the picture had turned half his face toward the camera.

Definitely Leo.

But the girl next to him was pretty tall.

Even in flats, she only came up a little shorter than him.

“That’s not me.”

“Huh?

Not you?”

Zoe snatched her phone back and laughed nervously.

“My bad.

Must’ve been seeing things…”

I laughed on the inside.

Oh, Leo.

So that’s why you couldn’t stand me.

Turns out, even before the amnesia, you already had another woman.

Because I was in the middle of a big project, I worked till nine.

When I got home, all the lights were on.

Leo was waiting by the door.

“You’re just getting back now?”

“Yeah.

New client.”

“If you’re working late, you can call me to pick you up.”

Ha.

Nice words.

Didn’t see a single missed call from you.

I ignored him and went straight to shower.

When I came out, Leo had my phone plugged in.

“Your phone died?

I called you like eight times this afternoon and couldn’t get through.”

I checked.

Sure enough, there was a long list of missed calls.

Okay.

That made me feel a little better.

“Must’ve been busy.

Didn’t notice.”

“Yeah.”

He’d clearly already showered.

He was half-sitting on the bed, running his fingers through his damp black hair, pushing it back off his forehead.

Under the messy strands, his long, lazy eyes were half-closed, like they were full of starlight.

Another day, another beauty-induced crisis.

After working a million hours, I suddenly felt very fragile.

“I’m so tired today, you big softie.

Can I rest my head on your chest?”

He didn’t say anything.

Just held out his arm.

I leaned into him all delicate-like.

“I think I’m getting dizzier.

Can I go a little lower?”

He said nothing.

Just like that, I made it to Leo’s abs.

I got to sleep on Leo’s abs, which basically meant I got to sleep with Leo.

But here’s the thing about me—I’m really good at pushing my luck.

“You big softie, my phone’s dead.

Can I use yours to scroll through TikTok?”

He didn’t say no.

Just handed it over.

I relaxed a little.

If he was willing to hand over his phone that easily, the chances of him having another woman were pretty low.

Facebook: clean.

Twitter: clean.

Every other app: no suspicious transactions, no shady location history.

The guy was too clean.

Which made him even more suspicious.

“Hey babe, you mind if I post something on your Instagram?”

He grunted in approval.

With his permission, I took a selfie and posted it on his Instagram.

Within three seconds, there were a bunch of comments.

Most of them were people laughing at him for showing off.

The vibes were normal.

Avatars were mostly pets, nature pics, and video game characters.

I scrolled TikTok for a bit.

When I went back to check, there was a new comment.

Super catty.

“Wow.

That’s close.”

The selfie wasn’t even that scandalous.

It just showed a bit of my hair and half of Leo’s abdominal muscles.

If you looked closely, it was actually kind of artsy.

Seeing how sour this person sounded, I clicked on their profile.
