Erasing Alpha’s Memories and Love Chapter 03 (Continue)

She walked over to Nathan, tear-blurred eyes fixed on him, looking fragile and pitiful. “I… I’m sorry, Alpha. I didn’t expect asking you to take care of me yesterday would make Luna so angry. I… I caused your child’s death. I made some soup myself… I hope it eases Luna’s pain.”

Nathan didn’t respond.

Kate extended the takeout box toward me.

I swatted it away. Soup splashed onto Kate, spilling all over the floor.

The steaming liquid burned Kate’s hand, and she cried out instantly.

“Ah! It burns!”

Nathan instinctively grabbed her hand, concern flashing in his eyes.

“It’s a burn—needs to be treated right away. Come with me to the nurse’s station.”

He tried to pull Kate along.

But Kate pushed back. “Alpha, stay here with Luna. She needs you more. I can handle this myself.”

I couldn’t stand the tug-of-war between them. I spoke sharply, my anger raw, “Stop this fake pity act! I don’t need it. Both of you—get out! Just leave!”

Nathan’s voice rose above mine. “Scarlet! Don’t go too far! Kate did nothing wrong—there’s no reason to insult her like this!”

I clutched my stomach, the pain spiking from anger, and took a deep breath to steady myself.

“She didn’t do anything wrong, and neither did you. I’m the one to blame. I shouldn’t have been with you. I shouldn’t have used Paige’s heart! You’ve always seen me as a stand-in. Well, Nathan Knight, listen up—I’m done playing that role!”

As I spoke, my chest tightened painfully.

I clutched my heart. Nathan’s face contorted with panic as he rushed toward me.

“Scarlet, what’s wrong? Your heart—are you in pain? I’ll call a doctor.”

I shoved him away. “Even if I die, it has nothing to do with you.”

“Scarlet… you’re not a stand-in. You’re my destined mate.”

The words were so false they made me want to laugh. I pushed him away again.

“Stop pretending. I know everything. Don’t act like I don’t.”

Nathan shot a suspicious glance at Kate.

She immediately shook her head. “I never said anything about my sister, Alpha.”

Seeing the two of them about to bicker, I urged them to leave.

Nathan refused. Just then, Ryan returned with breakfast.

The moment he saw Nathan, his panic and anger flared. He set down the food, grabbed Nathan by the collar, and swung a punch at his face.

Nathan froze in shock, then shook his head and asked, “What gives you the right to hit me?”

Ryan’s voice rang sharp. “You’re trash. You deserve it.”

He followed up with punch after punch, each one connecting solidly.

Kate tried to intervene.

But Ryan easily shoved her aside. She cried out in pain.

Nathan broke free to help her. “Kate! Are you okay?”

She bit her lip, looking fragile and pitiful.

Ryan pointed at her, cursing, “You bitch! Stop pretending! A mistress… you deserve worse!”

Hearing that, I felt a rush of satisfaction—but Nathan exploded.

He pointed at Ryan, fury in his eyes. “You have no right to insult Kate! What about you? Bringing breakfast like that… you stayed here all night yesterday, didn’t you? You and Scarlet—probably already had something going on. Who’s the real bitch isn’t so clear. Maybe… the child in Scarlet’s womb is yours!”

He shot a glance at me.

I gritted my teeth, forcing myself up despite my weakness, and walked over to Nathan. I slapped him hard across the face.

“Nathan! You have no right to doubt me! The guilty one here is you, not me. And if you think the child isn’t yours, fine—after the abortion, we’ll do a DNA test.”

Nathan’s hands gripped my shoulders, his gaze dropping to my abdomen. “What… what did you say? The baby’s still there?”
