Erasing Alpha’s Memories and Love Chapter 05 (Continue)
“I’m saving them both!”
Nathan’s roar tore through the phone and reverberated in my ears.
Kate immediately started her act, sobbing loudly. “Alpha, save me!”
My mouth was gagged—I couldn’t say a word, only rolled my eyes in exasperation.
The rogue continued, “Two hostages are too many. I’m going to kill one. Which one should it be? You have until tomorrow to decide. Show up with the answer, kill one, and bring the five-million ransom to save the other.”
He turned the screen toward Kate and gave her a realistic slap.
Kate screamed immediately, “Alpha! Save me! I’m scared! Tomorrow is my sister’s death anniversary—I don’t want to die the same day as her!”
Hearing Paige’s name, I already predicted my fate. The one to die would undoubtedly be me.
Kate was crying like a banshee.
I rolled my eyes again at her drama queen antics.
I had to save myself. I needed to conserve my energy—tomorrow, if I could hypnotize the rogue for even a few minutes, I might have a chance to escape.
The rogue went on, “Give me your answer tomorrow.”
He hung up.
I prayed silently: Ryan, find me fast. Nathan can’t be relied on now. Only Ryan can save me.
As soon as the call ended, Kate’s demeanor shifted. She snapped at the rogue. “Who told you to lay hands on me? Untie me! Idiot!”
The rogue raised his hand and slapped her again.
Gripping her face, he said coldly, “What are you screaming about? I’m the one who tied you up.”
Kate panicked. “You’re going back on our deal? Then you won’t get the money I promised you.”
The rogue smirked. “You gave me one million to fake this kidnapping. But if I can get five million by doing it for real, the responsibility is still the same. Why wouldn’t I do it?”
It made a twisted kind of sense. The situation shifted in an instant—I stared in disbelief.
Kate had dug her own grave. She lost control, staring at the rogue in despair.
He smiled, touching her cheek, now swollen from his slap, and whispered teasingly, “Relax… I’m not completely lawless. I promise the one who dies will be her.”
He pointed at me, adding, “I also guarantee Alpha Nathan won’t know a thing. But I’ll need a little interest.”
He reached for Kate’s thigh.
Kate screamed, her voice trembling with fear. “Don’t touch me! I’ll kill you!”
The rogue laughed. “After I get the money, I’ll leave. How are you going to kill me? You’re beautiful… and stupid.”
Kate sobbed, pleading, “Don’t touch me! Go sleep with Scarlet! We’re both women—it’s the same!”
Mouth gagged, I couldn’t stop cursing in my head.
Fuck… die, Kate.
The rogue ignored her completely. “She just miscarried. Not interested. Miss Kate Tuner… you’re the one I want.”
“How dare you—” Kate completely lost it.
Right as the steamy scene was about to go down… the rogue approached me.
I stared in shock, whimpering, “You said you wouldn’t touch me! You’re going back on your word!”
He shrugged. “No one’s watching.”
Then—one blow to my head, and I blacked out.
Semi-conscious, semi-asleep… for several hours.
I woke to his voice.
I was cold and hungry. My trembling body told me I had a fever.
I recalled what had happened the previous day.
I glanced at Kate. She was almost naked, covered in red marks.
She stared blankly at some point, motionless.
The rogue was on the phone with Nathan.
“Five million gathered?”
“Yes,” Nathan’s voice replied.
Hearing Nathan, Kate suddenly seemed alive again. She shouted out an address.
Before she could finish, the rogue clamped his hand over her mouth.
He hastily hung up, then kicked Kate in the stomach, sending her sprawling.
He lifted her up. “You bitch! Dare betray me? Should’ve killed you yesterday.”
Kate laughed carelessly. “Doesn’t matter… might as well all die together.”
The rogue knocked her out.
Then he redialed. “Transfer the money to the account I gave you. Five minutes… if not, I’ll kill both of them.”
“Don’t be reckless! I’ll give you five million. Listen… I’m saving Kate—the curly-haired girl!”
