He Lost His Mind When He Broke My Rules Chapter 05
The ship was slammed by a giant wave, shaking
violently.
“It’s not safe on deck! Get inside now!”
The crew shouted. Panic erupted. Everyone scrambled
for the cabin.
Someone steadied themselves, stunned.
“The weather changed so fast! It was sunny a minute ago.”
Thank god no one’s hurt yet. We’ll be safe once we head
back.
“Ahh–!”
A sharp scream cut through the noise.
Chloe tore away from the crowd, terrified.
“Where’s Dylan? Has anyone seen Dylan?”
“He was right next to me! He’s gone!”
Everyone looked around, but he was nowhere to be
seen.
Then a guest stared out the window, horrified.
“Oh no! Mr. Sterling fell overboard!”
Through the glass, we saw Dylan flailing in the rough
sea.
He bobbed up and down, his cries for help swallowed
by the waves.
“Help…. someone help me…”
Huge waves crashed down one after another. No one on
board dared to try rescuing him.
For a moment, everything was silent. Then someone
spoke, shaken.
“No wonder Clara never let him near water. He really is
cursed around it.”
I mocked her for overreacting, called her a
control–freak… were all those weird rules–no
elevators, no outdoor photos–meant to save him?
What do we do? Going out there is suicide.
We should have listened to her…
Everyone turned to me, eyes filled with fear and a
strange kind of admiration.
But Chloe broke free, rushing at me with a twisted face.
“You bitch! This is your fault!”
“You saw he was divorcing you, so you plotted to kill him for the money! You pushed him, didn’t you?”
She raised her hand to slap me.
“I’m pregnant with his child! That baby will be the Sterling heir. You get nothing!”
I grabbed her wrist and twisted it away.
Chloe stumbled back, hitting the railing before
catching herself.
“I don’t want a man who’s about to die.”
I stared at the raging sea and smiled coldly.
“If Dylan means that much to you, jump in and save
him yourself.”
The waves battered the ship so hard people could
barely stand. Going into the water was certain death.
Chloe went pale. She couldn’t speak.
In the ocean, Dylan was soaked and broken. Cold water
poured into his mouth and nose.
His mind began to fade. The rules I’d made flashed
through his head, one by one.
A terrible, clear thought hit him.
Were all those rules he’d mocked really meant to save him?
Before he could think again, a massive wave crashed
over him.
Dylan didn’t even get to scream. His vision went black, and he passed out.
