He Lost His Mind When He Broke My Rules Chapter 04
“What?”
Dylan froze, clearly shocked I’d said it.
After a moment, he laughed lowly, sounding relieved.
“Fine. But not now.”
“After I propose to Chloe on the cruise, we’ll sign the papers.”
“You’re coming with me. I want you to watch exactly what kind of woman I really want.”
I knew Dylan wanted to humiliate me in front of everyone, reclaim his pride after being called whipped.
But this time, I looked at his arrogant, clueless face with empty eyes.
“Fine. I’ll be there.”
I was going to watch Dylan die on that ship.
Over the next two days, Dylan got worse.
With Chloe by his side, he broke every single rule I’d made.
He sprayed the perfume I’d banned indoors. The kitchen filled with seafood he was allergic to. Even the emergency medicine in the trunk of his car was thrown away.
The worst part was at night.
The light in the master bedroom was on all night, and the intermittent ambiguous sound came out. I felt that my stomach was turning upside down.
Finally, the day of the cruise arrived. Dylan invited hundreds of friends and reporters.
He’d rented the entire ship. Standing in the middle, he looked triumphant with Chloe.
The boat slowly left the dock. Dylan signaled the captain to sail past the safety line.
“The weather’s perfect. A group of dolphins should swim by soon. I’m going to confess to Chloe in front of the ocean and everyone here.”
His friends laughed and teased:
“Dylan, you really don’t care about her rules anymore?”
I remember she forbade everyone from letting you near water. Treated you like a child—wouldn’t even let you play by the shore.
The crowd laughed.
Someone joked while looking at me:
Well, the control-freak is here. Now Dylan has a chaperone for his water fun.
They pushed me from the corner to the front of the deck.
Dylan stared at me, a smirk on his lips.
“You don’t really think something’s going to happen to me, do you?”
“Clara, open your eyes. It’s perfectly clear, not a wave in sight. Your fake supernatural act is over.”
I watched him, completely unaware of the danger, and smiled coldly.
“Dylan, don’t you dare regret this.”
I turned and walked to the other side of the deck without another glance.
Dylan frowned at my cold back, but said nothing.
He turned back to Chloe, softening again.
Guests crowded around them. Music played, and the deck was filled with laughter.
When the song ended, Dylan dropped to one knee, pulled out a diamond ring, and said tenderly.
“Chloe, only with you do I feel truly free—no rules, no restrictions.”
“Will you marry me?”
“Say yes! Say yes!”
The crowd chanted.
Chloe blushed, about to say “I do.”
In that instant, the clear sky turned black with storm clouds.
Crew members raced out of the bridge, pale with terror.
“Emergency! Extreme weather incoming—tsunami waves heading straight for us!”
