His Girl Best Friend Mocked My Calm Act—Unhinged Family Shut Her Chapter 07
Skyler and Cole both froze in pl
Skyler’s face changed. She looked at Cole. “Aren’t you going to say something?”
Cole stood up.
His face badly bruised, he walked over to my dad.
Then he dropped his gaze and muttered an apology.
“Mr. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson. I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”
Skyler froze.
Cole turned and pointed at Skyler, his finger nearly touching her nose.
“Shut up, Skyler.”
“You came back and caused trouble between me and Grace. Did you ever think about how she would feel?”
Skyler’s eyes went wide.
“What did you just say to me? Are you even a man? You kissed me back in the break room. And now you’re pretending it didn’t happen?”
Cole’s hand was shaking, but he clenched his jaw.
“When did I kiss you? You practically assaulted me. I didn’t even have time to react.”
“Grace saw it. You made the first move. I had nothing to do with it.”
He turned to me with desperate sincerity.
“Grace, listen to me. There’s nothing going on between me and Skyler. That was all in the past. Everyone has a past.”
“My heart belongs to you. It always has. We’re just friends. She’s the one who kept pushing. I didn’t move in the break room. She forced herself on me.”
Skyler scoffed, blood dripping from her lip onto the floor.
“You’re pathetic, Cole. Now that you’ve taken a few hits, suddenly it’s all my fault? You weren’t saying that when you were on top of me.”
Cole whipped his head around and glared at her. “Shut up. You’re a woman. Don’t you have any shame? Not everyone is as shameless as you.”
My dad stayed quiet the whole time, a dark expression on his face. But my mom was thoroughly entertained. She hugged my arm and whispered.
“See, baby? Watching dogs tear each other apart is always the best show.”
