I Picked Up a College Guy, Then My Mafia Ex Caught Me Chapter 02

I first met Dominic in high school, completely by accident.

I had just been let out for the day and cut through an alley when I heard screams.

Rounding the corner, I found him in the shadows, a cigarette between his fingers, staring straight at me.

At his feet lay someone who had been beaten beyond recognition.

That man’s eyes locked onto me like I was his last hope. Through broken teeth, he slurred, “She’s… she’s that man’s daughter… let me go!”

I ran without thinking, but but I did not even make it three seconds before I was dragged back.

Dominic nudged the man on the ground with the toe of his polished black shoe. “You know him?”

I shook my head frantically. “No. Never seen him. Don’t know him.”

One of the bodyguards stepped up and whispered something in his ear. His expression darkened instantly.

At the time, I didn’t understand what was happening.

Later, I learned that he had failed to get the intel he needed, his negotiation had fallen apart, and the woman he cared about had been taken because of it.

Dominic despised me for that. But he also saw me as useful, so he kept me close.

One thing led to another, a single night, and I ended up pregnant.

He married me, but his cold, world-weary demeanor never changed.

If it hadn’t been for the baby, he would have torn me apart long ago.

So four years ago, on the day I gave birth, I planned my escape.

In the delivery room, when the first cry split the air, that was my signal. That was the sound of freedom.

I really was free.

At least, I would have been if he had not found me.

I had been running for so long. And yet, he still found me.

The bar descended into chaos. Customers scattered everywhere. But that sweet, young college guy stepped in front of me, shielding me with his body.

“Are they after you? Don’t worry, I’ll call the police.”

I gave a bitter laugh and stopped him.

Useless. In both the corporate world and politics, no one dared to cross Dominic.

Dominic’s gaze on us turned arctic.

A small boy stepped out of the stretch Bentley. His eyes were far too calm for a child his age.

Dominic placed a hand on his shoulder. “Go on. Call her Mommy.”

The miniature version of Dominic hesitated for a moment, then walked up to me.

He didn’t speak, just studied me quietly.

I was stunned. This was my baby? He had grown so much.

In that instant, a flood of emotions hit me, and I felt tears prick at my eyes.

The college guy gaped. “Wait, you have a kid?”

“She also has a husband,” Dominic cut in coldly.

The young man met his vicious glare and immediately shut his mouth, trembling.
