At dinner, I noticed a gash on Dominic’s wrist, probably from the fight earlier.

He didn’t seem to care.

Worried about infection, I grabbed the first-aid kit and bandaged it up. He stared at his hand, now wrapped like a mitten. “How am I supposed to change clothes?”

I sighed. Fine, he had helped Ava. I owed him one.

I grabbed his loungewear. As I worked his tie loose, he ducked his head to meet my eyes.

His silence was heavier than words. I hurried to unbutton his shirt. Beneath it, his body was sculpted, broad chest, clean-cut abs.

Since when had he been in such good shape?

I looked away, flustered. When I glanced back up, his gaze had gone deep. Those dark, placid eyes suddenly shimmered with something unreadable.

He leaned in closer. His breath was warm against my skin.

Just as his lips almost touched mine, I stepped back and tossed the shirt over his face. “Here. Put it on.”

Once he was dressed, I tried to make a quick exit.

He caught my wrist, a smirk tugging at his mouth. “Aren’t you going to help me with the pants? My wrist hurts.”

I shot him a look. I had seen him take on ten men without flinching,
bleeding all over the place.

“You’re injured, not crippled. Stop pretending.” I pulled away and made
my escape.
