My Boyfriend Faked His Death, So I Married Someone Else Chapter 12
The truth was out.
People flooded Kendra’s accounts. Demanded they apologize to me.
So many who’d cursed me before now apologized too.
[I didn’t really know the story. Just saw a few videos and joined the mob. I’m so sorry.]
[I’m really sorry. I didn’t even know Carter. And I was literally mourning him online. So embarrassing.]
At first, Carter and Kendra stayed silent. No apology. No statement.
Then the pressure got too much. They posted a half-hearted apology.
Three days later, Kendra deleted everything. Scrubbed her entire social media.
Not long after, I heard they were divorcing. Fighting over money.
I got that news while standing under the Hawaiian sun.
Warm and bright. Mountains and ocean in the distance. I wore a white dress, kissing Dylan in front of a priest.
During our vows, Dylan started crying.
I wiped his tears with my thumb. “Why are you crying?”
He took my hand. His eyes wet but smiling.
“I just thought about waking up next to you every day for the rest of my life. And I felt really happy.”
I smiled back. “Me too. So happy.”
“Now put the ring on me.” I held out my hand.
We exchanged rings in front of everyone.
And in that moment, I felt happier than I’d ever felt.
Because from now on, every day is brand new.
