I glanced at Liam, who was being two-faced. ”Are you reluctant to spend the money, or do you not want William to earn a bigger bonus?”
The bonus was secondary. William and Liam were close friends, and William had just started at the insurance company. This sale was crucial for his promotion. It should’ve been a win-win situation, but it seemed like the venue was part of a conspiracy against me.
Liam and William were both stunned.
”Alright, alright, listen to Natalie. Go prepare a contract with a larger coverage amount.”
”Would ten million be enough?”
I nodded and put the signed contracts away.
Once the premiums were paid, these contracts would take effect.
William looked puzzled when I didn’t hand the contracts back to him, but before he could say anything, Liam urged him, ”There’s a printer in the study, what are you waiting for?”
As William went to adjust the coverage in the study, I used the printer at home to print two organ donation registration forms.
Liam looked at me, confused and shocked.
I knew very well that Liam wouldn’t sign the donation form, yet I handed it to him.
”Why donate organs?”
”We’ve already bought the insurance, donating organs is no big deal.”
Liam hesitated for a long time, unsure of what I was up to.
Not signing would raise my suspicions, so without waiting for his reaction, I signed my name.
Seeing that he was still hesitant, I feigned anger. ”If you don’t want to, then there’s no point in buying the insurance. It’ll just be a waste of money.”
With that, I turned and left the room.
Liam was completely baffled.
Of course, he wouldn’t understand my plan. I didn’t have the patience to wait for him to cause an accident and have someone crash the ambulance into the river again.
Once he signed the donation form, after the incident, I could call the donation center, ensuring he would meet the same fate.
But I couldn’t say that outright.
I had just entered my room when Liam followed me in. ”Sweetheart, forget the organ donation, alright? If it weren’t to help William out, we wouldn’t even have the insurance.”
He paused and then added, ”If you really want to donate, I won’t stop you. But I’m not interested.”
Liam couldn’t even pretend anymore. He was just one step away from openly revealing his scheme.
In my previous life, he pretended so well, never once showing his true nature. To the outside world, he was always the good husband, the good son-in-law.
But no one realized what a monster he really was.
”I’ll sign up to donate, you need to sign up too.”
”Why should I?”
