My Husband Let Me Die for the Insurance Money Chapter 03

Liam’s voice grew louder. I knew he was feeling guilty.

The commotion caught William’s attention, and he came running to check what was going on. ”What’s going on, Natalie?”

I calmly replied, ”We’re not going to buy the insurance for now.”

Liam’s face flushed with anger. ”What are you trying to do, Natalie Hayes?”

I said coolly, ”You won’t even sign the organ donation form. How am I supposed to know what’s really going on in your mind?”

Without waiting for William to intervene, I gathered my things, turned around, and left the house.

“Liam, what if she finds out something?”

”Notice what?” Liam scoffed. ”Just get the insurance paperwork ready. When she’s not home, I’ll sign for her and pay the premium.”

”If it’s just a registration form, you could sign it yourself,” William said. ”No point stirring things up over something this small.”

Seeing Liam still hesitating, William added impatiently, ”She’s the one who’s going to die anyway. Whether you sign or not doesn’t really change anything.”

”Exactly,” Liam muttered. ”So why should I sign it? Bad luck.”

”It’s a tiny detail,” William said. ”Don’t let something trivial ruin the whole plan.”

After weighing it over and over, Liam finally picked up the pen and signed his name on the Organ Donation Agreement.

”Is the car ready?” he asked.

”Just waiting for your payment.”

Everything Liam and William did was exactly what I expected.

The only reason I had ended up dead in my previous life was because I trusted Liam too much.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of my mouth as I quietly saved the evidence.

I had no intention of exposing their scheme.

And I certainly wasn’t about to alert them.

After leaving the building, I even deliberately avoided the familiar foot massage parlor.

Instead, I found a quiet spot and transferred the full insurance premium to the account listed on the contract.

Then I went straight to the insurance company where William worked and had the contract officially stamped.

Only after the seal was placed did I slowly head home.

When I walked in, the Organ Donation Agreement and the insurance contract were already lying on the table.

Without hesitation, I signed my name on my copy of the contract.

Liam seemed noticeably relieved once he saw my signature.

He said he needed to take the paperwork to William and left the apartment.

I stood by the window for a long time afterward, yet I never saw him downstairs.

No one can hide their true nature forever.

But my heart remained perfectly calm.

In my previous life, I had been a fool.

I didn’t realize Liam had already been cheating until the moment the car slammed into me.

Now, even knowing he had probably run off to celebrate with his mistress, I felt nothing, not even the faintest trace of sadness.
