My Sister Stole My Life After Reading the Comments Chapter 07

[What the hell? Nadia’s been reborn? That shouldn’t be the case. It’s not part of the story.]

[Why would Nancy think Nadia has been reborn? Has she noticed something?]

I froze, not expecting Nancy to guess the truth. Still, all I did was smile before leaving the room. I didn’t answer her question. It wasn’t time yet.

A week later, Nancy was able to walk to school on her own, though just barely.

Between classes, Eugene caught me and asked, “Nadia, what’s your stance on the Quill family’s offer?”

I looked at him calmly. “Didn’t I already give them my answer? I won’t do it.”

“But why? The Quills are more than willing to adopt you. Do you even realize—’

I cut him off before he could finish. “I do. I just don’t want it. Nancy can have that opportunity instead.”

As I turned the corner, I saw Nancy at the far end of the hallway, glaring at me with pure hatred. She steadied herself against the wall and moved toward me step by step. “Don’t get cocky, Nadia. Just because Mom, Dad, and Eugene are all bewitched by you doesn’t mean you can lie to them forever.

“I just haven’t fully adjusted to this life yet. Mom and Dad said they would give me another chance. As long as I can beat you in the midterms, they’ll stop thinking about adopting you.”

I smiled icily. “Oh? Then you’d better work hard.”

I gave her a once-over. “But looking at you right now… can you really do well this time?”

Nancy ground her teeth. “Do you even know who the private tutor Mom and Dad hired for me is? He’s one of the top teachers in the entire country. He charges 200 thousand dollars an hour. Someone as pathetic and broke as you will never get close to people like that in your entire life!”

I let out a short laugh. “Sorry to disappoint you, but my grades are good enough that I don’t need to have anything to do with people like that. Only losers like you need one-on-one tutoring. And even then, you’ll still just scrape by at the very bottom of the class.”

[What the hell is wrong with Nadia? How can she be this vicious?]

[Nancy is just going through a rough patch. What is Nadia getting at? Does she think she’ll be on top forever?]

[Just wait until Nancy tramples all over her. She’ll be on her knees, begging for mercy!]

I was about to leave when Nancy blocked my way again, snarling, “So what if you get good grades? People like you still end up grinding away as some corporate drone. You might as well start sucking up to me now. If you serve me well, I might actually throw you a bone someday.”

I laughed out loud at that. “Do you even hear yourself right now? You can barely hold on to your place in the Quill family, yet you still have the nerve to threaten me. As long as I say the word, I can easily replace you. Don’t you get what that means?

“The Quills want a daughter who’s truly outstanding-but are you? You don’t deserve to be described with that word. I don’t need to actually do anything to you. All I have to do is wait, and the Quills will eventually kick you out like you’re a stray.

“And if you shamelessly cling to them and refuse to leave, you’ll end up being slowly tortured to death in that household. Either way, no matter which ending you get, I’ll be happy to watch you face it.”

As I stepped back into the classroom, I heard Nancy’s shrill scream echo from around the corner. “No! No way! That’s not going to happen!”
