Secret Love Ended Before His Wedding Chapter 04

My mother looked at me, seeing the hollow look in my eyes, and let out a long, heavy sigh.

“Sienna, remember this. A man who lies as naturally as he breathes isn’t worth your time. A man with no sense of responsibility, who runs from everything, is even worse. Next time, keep your eyes wide open. Don’t let yourself be blinded again.”

I slowly came back to myself and murmured, “Okay.”

After that, Nolan and Brielle became busy.

They had to check the wedding venue setup and prepare the wedding favors.

I was busy too, planning my mother’s birthday dinner.

But they still managed to barge back into my life.

“Sienna, ever since we were little, I always dreamed we’d be each other’s maid of honor. Now that I’m getting

married, I really hope you’ll be my bridesmaid. Will you?”

Brielle asked carefully.

Nolan didn’t even give me a chance to refuse.

“Your bridesmaid dress is already finished. The shop will deliver it this afternoon. My mom saw it and said

it’ll look stunning on you perfectly.”

I barely heard what they were saying.

My eyes had fallen on their ring fingers, where they wore matching wedding bands.

The bands were simple, plain gold circles.

But engraved into them were their initials.

It was a design I had come up with when I was twenty.

I had told Brielle once that I wanted my future husband and me to wear wedding bands I had designed

myself.

I wanted us to walk into a sacred ceremony together wearing them.

“Sienna, your silence means yes! Thank you.”

Brielle took my hand excitedly.

Then she smiled her voice dropping. “Both our families will be there, Sienna. Everyone expects this day to go perfectly. You want that too, right, Sienna?”

Her smile was no longer natural or pure.

There was a quiet threat in it.

She knew my mother cared deeply about reputation.

She also knew I wouldn’t let my family become the subject of neighborhood gossip over this.

I slowly pulled my hand away and smiled back.

“Yes. I’ll give you both my blessing.”

Nolan’s attention wasn’t on us.

He was looking around my living room.

When he noticed that the photo of him and me on the coffee table had been replaced by a family photo, his gaze paused for half a second.

Before he left, he looked at me and sighed.

“Brielle said all that for our own good. Don’t take it personally. When our time comes, she’ll be your

bridesmaid too. Just think of this wedding as a rehearsal for ours.”

Hearing that, I almost laughed out loud.

What made him think I would still dance to his tune?

And what made him think I would ever settle for someone else’s divorced hand-me-downs?

Time passed quickly.

Soon, it was the day of their wedding.

Nolan and Brielle kept glancing at me from time to time.

As if they were afraid I would lose control and make a scene.

But they were disappointed.

From beginning to end, I wore the perfect smile.

I helped coordinate the minor hiccups behind the scenes.

Seeing that, Nolan and Brielle gradually relaxed.

Until the officiant called for them to take the stage together, hand in hand.

That was when an angry roar cut through the room from somewhere in the distance.

“Nolan, didn’t you tell me Sienna was your girlfriend and warn me to stay away from her?”

“And now you’re turning around and marrying someone else, making her stand there as your bridesmaid? Are

you trying to humiliate her on purpose?”
