The Alpha Princess They Destroyed Chapter 08 (Continue)

Back then, Zoe had come to them with a blood test report proving I was type O.

That had been enough to convince them I wasn’t their child.

And now…

Liam’s voice came out hoarse and broken, like each word had to be dragged out of his throat.

“She’s AB?”

The coroner frowned. “Of course. The result is accurate.”

With a heavy thud, Liam stumbled backward and crashed to the floor, eyes shaking.

“Run a DNA test,” he said. “Now.”

Her steps came to a sudden halt, her face pale with terror, and she dared not set foot in it again.

Instead, she turned around and sprinted toward the villa to retrieve the documents!

Time dragged by, second after second.

Liam sat beside my reconstructed bones, shadows pooling in his bloodshot eyes.

“It can’t be what I think,” he whispered.

But what if it was?

He shut his eyes and dug his nails into his own palm, not daring to follow the thought any further.

The sun sank.

Night fell.

The temperature inside the morgue kept dropping, and his chest seemed to freeze along with it.

He sat there until his whole body had gone numb.

At last, the door opened.

The coroner walked in with the result.

“The genetic markers are consistent,” he said. “You are biological siblings.”

Liam’s eyes widened suddenly as he read the report word by word.

Three seconds later, he suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter like a madman.

“My real sister… Ember was my real sister… What the hell did I do?”

Then he screamed.

The sound of absolute ruin echoed through the cold room.

“Leave,” he said.

The coroner sighed, then stepped out and closed the door.

I stood nearby in silence.

Even though I had already left Ember’s body, my chest still ached so badly I could barely breathe.

“System,” I asked softly, “is it Ember’s soul hurting?”

For a long while, there was no answer.

Then the system appeared.

For the first time, I thought I heard something like pity in its cold voice.

[Host, souls don’t feel pain. You’re the one who hurts.]

I pressed a hand to my chest.

Tears slid down my face.

Liam slowly walked over to me, the report still in his hand.

“Ember… You’re my sister. My real sister…”

He let out a laugh of self-loathing.

“If you were still alive, would you laugh at how stupid I was? Only now I realize it… we looked alike.”

That night, Liam stayed with me.

His back, once always straight and unyielding, was bent at last.

By morning, he rose to his feet and pulled my remains into a tight, trembling embrace.

“I’m going to find out the truth,” he said. “Wait for me.”

When he turned away, the grief in his eyes was gone, replaced by something far more terrifying: pure brutality.

He made a call.

“Find Zoe and bring her to me. I’m going to question her myself.”

“What do you mean, she ran?”

“Then find her. Whoever brings her in gets one hundred million.”

Driven by greed, Zoe was caught by her bodyguard in broad daylight before she could even board the American flight.

She was trembling so hard she could barely stand.

“Let me go!” she screamed. “I’m the Alpha princess! How dare you touch me, you bastards!”

A bodyguard slapped her so hard her head snapped sideways and her shouting died at once.

He sneered at her. “Alpha princess? That’s not for us to decide. Save it for the Alpha.”

Zoe’s cheek swelled instantly, blood staining the corner of her mouth.

Terrified, she begged them over and over.

“Please… please let me go. Name your price. Whatever he can give you, I can too!”

The bodyguard rolled his eyes.

“What are you, exactly? Sit still. Or I’ll kill you.”

Zoe shuddered violently.

By then, only one thought remained in her head.

It’s over.

In total panic, she was driven back to the estate.

When the vehicle stopped, the bodyguards yanked her out and threw her hard at Liam’s feet.

She looked up in confusion.
