The Comments Called Me Ruined and I Called Bluff Chapter 01

The transmigrator hijacked my life as the true heiress for three years, turning my family into a toxic battleground of endless drama.

The second she bailed, I opened my eyes to a screen of rapidly scrolling comments.

[God, the original soul is finally back! Her fake sister is the ultimate master of manipulation now, and her CEO brother is ridiculously biased toward her.]

[That transmigrator spent three years stirring up drama, obsessed with nothing but fighting over the family fortune and tearing other women down.]

[Now the real heiress’s reputation is completely ruined. How is she supposed to clean up this huge mess?]

As I processed this, my fake sister Sadie Dixon walked in carrying a cup of coffee, her smile sweet and timid. “Nicole, you’re finally awake, Cyrus said you weren’t feeling well, so he wants me to take your place at the gala.”

I glanced at the screen as a comment flashed by: [Here she goes, the manipulator is moving in to steal her power.]

Then I looked at the fragile girl in front of me.

Instead of taking the coffee, I reached out and gently pinched her cheek, letting out a soft laugh, “Sure. Since you want to go so badly, you can pick whatever you want from my closet.”

***

The words had barely left my mouth when Sadie froze.

The cup stayed suspended in midair, and her smile vanished instantly.

A look of pure bewilderment took its place.

[Is she short-circuiting?]

[Sadie definitely didn’t see that coming, haha!]

[Hilarious. Her brain is a total blank right now.]

But she recovered quickly. She took a deep breath, and her eyes turned red around the rims. “Why do you say like that, Nicole… I’m scared. Did I do something wrong?”

She drew back half a step, shrinking into herself with a timid, almost fragile air—like she might shatter at the slightest touch.

I gave her performance a 9.5 out of 10.

I docked half a point because her eyes were too scheming.

She was stealing glances at me the entire time, trying to gauge my reaction.

That gave her away.

[Sadie is the undisputed queen of acting.]

[The transmigrator pushed her so hard she developed survival reflexes.]

Before I left, she was this fearless little girl who wasn’t scared of anything.

At thirteen, she won a fight with a boy from the school next door and grinned at me with blood on her lip.

And now?

She had learned to shrink her shoulders and fake tears on command.

The imposter had forced her to become this.

I gestured for her to come closer.

She stepped toward me out of habit.

I reached out and pinched her cheek. It was still as soft as it was when we were kids.

Sadie was stunned.

[She pinched her! She actually touched her!]

[The imposter couldn’t stand being near Sadie, but the real Nicole Dixon is pinching her face?]

“N-Nicole?”

“Nothing. Just felt like pinching. It’s fun.”

Her lips parted slightly, then closed again. The hundred lines she had probably prepared were useless now, and she couldn’t script new ones fast enough.

Just then, the door pushed open.

A middle-aged woman in a maid’s uniform walked in with a tray.

She saw I was awake and put on a sycophantic smile, “Miss, you’re awake? Here is the black truffle you requested…”

She glanced at Sadie, and her smile instantly turned cold. “Why are you here? Miss Dixon isn’t well, so don’t come in here to cause trouble.”

Her tone was filled with blatant contempt.

Sadie shrank her shoulders and dropped her gaze without a word.

I watched the scene, and everything became clear.

When the imposter was here, the servants must have taken cues from her to mistreat Sadie.

Since our brother Cyrus Dixon was away on business, no one was left to protect her.

“Who gave you permission to speak to her like that?”

My voice wasn’t loud, but it made the maid freeze. “Miss Dixon?”

“She is my sister.” I looked her in the eye. “I don’t care how you treated her while I was gone. But starting now, anyone who gives her attitude can pack their bags and leave.”

The maid’s face turned a sickly pale color.

Sadie snapped her head up, her eyes wide with shock. She stared at me like I was an alien.

[She’s protecting her! She’s actually protecting her sister!]

[The imposter used to lead the bullying, but the real Nicole defended Sadie the second she got back!]

The maid set down the tray with an awkward look and backed out of the room.

Sadie was still frozen in that same stunned expression, completely spaced out.

I pushed the bowl of black truffle toward her, “Want some?”

She shook her head mechanically, then nodded just as rigidly. Then her entire face crumbled into utter confusion. “I… I should go.”

The door clicked shut.

The frantic patter of her footsteps echoed down the hallway.

She ran faster than a mouse being chased by a cat.

I sank back against the pillow, but I didn’t smile.

The disaster left behind was even worse than I imagined.

But it didn’t matter.

Now that I was back, I would fix it all, one piece at a time.
