The Comments Called Me Ruined and I Called Bluff Chapter 02

The next morning.

I had just walked downstairs when I noticed a few people standing in the living room.

Sadie was standing in the corner, her face completely pale.

Facing her were two elegantly dressed, middle-aged women.

One of them was pointing right in her face and snapping at her. “Sadie, you damaged my daughter’s limited-edition bag last time and promised to pay for it. Where’s the money?”

Sadie bit her lip, “I didn’t damage it…”

“You didn’t? You’re just living here on charity, who would believe you?” The woman sneered, “Or are you trying to back out of it? I heard Miss Dixon hates you the most. You’re completely invisible in this family. Who on earth would pay that kind of money for you?”

The butler Mr. Barlow stood to the side watching the drama unfold, a smug, gloating smile on his face.

[Cyrus is away on business, so these people dare to come to the house and bully Sadie.]

[They’re just taking advantage of Sadie because she’s an easy target. There’s no damage to the bag at all—this is a complete setup.]

[Mr. Barlow is the imposter’s guy. He always causes trouble for Sadie. No way he didn’t let them in on purpose.]

I walked down the stairs, my voice not loud, but it made everyone turn to look.

The two women’s eyes lit up the moment they saw me, and their expressions flipped instantly.

“Oh, Miss Dixon, you came at the perfect time.”

“We were just about to tell you about this sister of yours…”

“What kind of bag was damaged?” I cut her off.

“A limited-edition Hermès. It costs over three hundred thousand dollars.”

Sadie’s face grew even paler, her lips trembling as she remained silent.

I glanced at her, then looked back at the two women and smiled. “Three hundred thousand dollars, right? Fine, I’ll pay. But…”

I walked over and stood right next to Sadie. “So did my sister actually wreck that bag, or is your daughter just staging a deliberate shakedown?”

The woman’s expression twisted, “What is that supposed to mean?”

“Nothing.” I pulled out my phone. “Public places have security cameras. Let’s pull up the footage and take a look. If it really is my sister’s fault, I’ll give you every single penny of that three hundred thousand.”

“But if your daughter is running a scam…” I looked at her and smiled, “Then I’ll see you in court.”

The two women’s faces flushed with embarrassment.

They exchanged a quick look, and one of them let out a forced laugh, “Oh, Miss Dixon, we weren’t really trying to make a big deal out of it or anything… we just came to ask what happened…”

“Anyway, we’ll be leaving now.”

They took off instantly, moving much faster than when they arrived.

After the front door closed, I turned toward Mr. Barlow, who had been standing by watching the entire show. “What’s your name?”

Mr. Barlow blinked, startled, “I’m… I’m Mr. Barlow, miss.”

“Who let those two women inside?”

“I… I didn’t know they would…”

“How long were you standing there watching while they insulted my sister?”

Mr. Barlow’s face immediately turned white.

“As of today, you’re fired.” I looked at him, my tone completely flat, “Pack your things and leave before the day is over.”

“Miss Dixon! I’ve worked for the Dixon family for so long…”

“Then you should know that Sadie is the second young lady of the Dixon family.” I cut him off, “Not someone for you to use as entertainment.”

Mr. Barlow was escorted out by the other servants.

The living room fell completely silent.

Sadie was still rooted to the spot, looking completely struck by lightning. “You… you helped me?”

“No kidding.” I looked at her, “You’re my sister.”

Her eyes suddenly welled up with tears. She blinked hard, forcing the tears back. “I… I’m going back to my room.”

She ran off. Again.

[Sadie is crying!]

[It’s been three years, and someone is finally protecting her.]

[Ugh, my heart just turned into a puddle!]
