The Other Man in My Wife’s Tent Chapter 04

A hint of nervousness flashed in her eyes.

“What did I do?”

I let out a cold laugh.

“Still pretending?”

“Fine.”

“Then let me ask you.”

“Where did the mark on your neck come from?”

The moment I said that, everyone looked at her.

But at some point, the red mark had already been rubbed until it was no longer as obvious.

Anger appeared on her face.

“Caleb!”

“I already told you.”

“I got bitten by mosquitoes while camping yesterday.”

“I explained it to you already.”

“Why do you still refuse to believe me?”

The moment George heard that, he pointed at me and started yelling.

“You scumbag!”

“You’re using something this small to accuse my daughter?”

“Do you really think I won’t kill you today?”

Iris’s face turned bright red with anger.

“My daughter had to end up with a scumbag like you out of all the men in the world?”

“You actually dare accuse my daughter of cheating?”

“You better give us an explanation today!”

“You wanted a divorce, didn’t you?”

“Fine!”

“Fine! Divorce her, then!”

“But you’re the one who betrayed her.”

“You’ll waive your claim to marital assets!”

“And you’ll pay my daughter $500,000 in emotional distress compensation!”

My parents’ faces immediately became anxious.

My mother hurriedly stepped forward.

“Caleb, Bree has always treated us well.”

“We don’t care what your reason is right now.”

“Apologize to Bree!”

“Ask her to forgive you!”

“It’s still not too late!”

But before she could finish, Iris shoved my mother aside.

“Enough!”

“Stop saying useless things!”

“Your son is the one who hurt my daughter!”

“And now you want him to apologize?”

“Too late!”

“Never happening!”

“Your son is trash.”

“And you two aren’t any better!”

“He either divorces Bree and pays compensation today, or this matter is not over!”

My mother stumbled from the push.

I immediately caught her.

Then I looked at Iris coldly.

“You want compensation?”

“Impossible.”

“Leave now.”

“Or I’ll call the police.”

By then, several neighbors had gathered outside the door, watching the commotion.

Iris suddenly looked at me with a sinister smile.

Then she turned toward the crowd and shouted.

“Everyone, please help us!”

“My daughter has spent every day taking care of this man since she married him!”

“She cooks for him, cleans for him, and treats his parents like her own!”

“And now he wants to kick my daughter out!”

“We came here for justice!”

“And now he’s threatening to call the cops on us!”

“What kind of man does that?”

As soon as they heard that, the neighbors immediately started blaming me.

“Bree is such a wonderful woman!”

“She’s beautiful, kind, and gentle!”

“Being able to marry her was the greatest luck of your life!”

“And now you’re bullying your own wife?”

“You make me sick!”

“He always seemed like such a polite guy.”

“I never thought he would treat his own wife so cruelly.”

“Someone like him should waive his claim to marital assets and pay emotional distress compensation!”

“Anything less isn’t justice!”

Hearing those words, my parents looked troubled.

My father stared at me.

After a long silence, he finally asked:

“Caleb…”

“Why exactly do you want a divorce?”

I looked at Bree’s parents.

Since they had pushed me this far…

I had no reason to hide the truth anymore.

I pointed at Bree.

“Because she cheated on me.”

The moment those words left my mouth, the entire room exploded.

“Bullshit!”

“My daughter would never cheat on you!”

“Even if you died, she would never do something like that!”

“You’re the one who cheated!”

George glared at me viciously.

He looked like he could slap me again at any moment.

Beside him, Bree gritted her teeth and spoke.

“Caleb…”

“I never thought you’d go this far just to be with another woman.”

“How could you accuse me like this?”

“I saw you before.”

“I saw you going in and out of hotels with another woman.”

“But I kept quiet because I wanted to protect our marriage.”

“I hoped that one day you’d realize your mistake.”

“But I never thought….”

“That you’d try to get rid of me just so you could be with her.”

“I regret marrying you.”

As she spoke, tears fell down her face.

Then she threw herself into Iris’s arms.

She looked like she had suffered the greatest humiliation in the world.

Seeing that, the neighbors couldn’t hold themselves back anymore.

They all started shouting at me.

“You two – faced bastard!”

“You cheated, and now you’re accusing an innocent woman?”

“Have you no shame?”

“I can’t stand guys like you!”

“She deserved better than you!”

“Sign the divorce agreement now!”

“Waive your claim to marital assets!”

“Pay her emotional distress compensation!”

“Sign it!”

“If you don’t, the cops are the least of your problems.”

“We’ll make sure she gets what she deserves.”

Someone had even printed out a divorce agreement for Bree.

She took it and looked at me coldly.

“Caleb.”

“Since you want a divorce, fine.”

“I agree.”

“But since you betrayed me…”

“You need to pay the price.”

“Sign it.”

I looked at the section about waiving my claim to marital assets and the compensation terms.

Then I let out a cold laugh.

“Bree.”

“I was going to leave you with some dignity.”

“But now…”

“I see you don’t deserve it.”

The next second, I unlocked my phone.

I played the audio recording of her and Brantli at the campsite.
