The Other Man in My Wife’s Tent Chapter 05

The audio recording played from my phone.

Brantli and Bree’s voices came through clearly.

Then came the unmistakable sounds of intimacy.

The moment Bree heard it, her eyes widened.

She stared at me in disbelief.

She couldn’t say a single word.

Everyone else fell silent.

The helpless and innocent Bree they had seen moments ago was suddenly gone in their eyes.

“So we were all fooled by her fake innocence this whole time?”

“She actually had the nerve to ask Caleb for $500,000?”

“She even wanted him to waive his claim to marital assets?”

“And the one who cheated was actually her?”

“She’s a venomous bitch!”

“Thank goodness Caleb found out early and kept the evidence.”

“Otherwise, we’d be the ones who wronged someone innocent.”

When my parents heard the recording, the panic on their faces slowly disappeared.

Instead, they looked relieved.

My father patted my shoulder.

“You didn’t do anything wrong.”

My mother wiped away her tears.

“Caleb, Mom always believed you wouldn’t do something like that.”

“Now the truth has finally come out.”

“Why didn’t you tell us earlier?”

“You scared me half to death.”

I smiled faintly.

“Mom, it’s not that I didn’t want to.”

“But like you said before….”

“Whether she was sincere or not, she really did take care of you and Dad.”

“I just wanted to give her some respect before we separated.”

“But I warned her more than once.”

“She kept thinking she could get away with it.”

“She pretended nothing happened.”

“And then she even tried to extort me.”

“If she insisted on pushing things this far…”

“I couldn’t keep tolerating it anymore.”

At that moment, Bree’s parents looked terrible.

Ever since Bree and I had gotten married,

whenever our families had dinner together, they always acted like they were above everyone else.

Sometimes, they even said things that crossed the line.

My parents endured it every time because they didn’t want to put me in a difficult position.

Just moments ago, they had been so certain that I was the one who cheated.

They had accused me of betraying Bree.

But now, the truth had hit them hard.

Iris looked at Bree with a dark expression.

“Bree.”

“What exactly is going on?”

Bree looked at me.

A flash of panic crossed her face.

“Mom, it’s fake.”

“That recording is fake.”

“Yes, I went to Wildwood Campers.”

“But I would never betray him there!”

But the next second, she seemed to think of something.

Then she started crying again.

“That recording is fake!”

She pointed at me.

“He made it because he wanted a divorce!”

“He wants to be with another woman!”

“He used my voice!”

“He made this whole thing up!”

Hearing that, Iris regained some confidence.

She stepped in front of Bree and shouted at the crowd.

“Don’t just take his word for it!”

“Listen to Bree!”

“This man is trying to destroy my daughter’s reputation with a fake recording!”

“My daughter has been married to him for three years!”

“Don’t you all know what kind of person she is?”

“Do you really think Bree would do something like this?”

George also spoke in a deep voice.

“Exactly!”

“Technology is so advanced now.”

“Anything can be fabricated.”

“That recording is fake!”

“He just wants to abandon Bree and be with another woman.”

“He’ll do anything to get rid of her!”

Some people started to hesitate.

“Actually… that does make sense.”

“Bree has spent all these years taking care of her family.”

“I’ve never seen her get close to another man.”

But others remained doubtful.

“You never truly know someone.”

“One of them has to be lying.”

I didn’t argue.

Instead, I picked up my phone and called someone.

“Did you find him?”

After I returned from Wildwood Campers, I had already contacted a friend and asked him to investigate Brantli’s address and workplace.

A voice came from the other end.

“Caleb, I found him.”

“He’s a department manager at Lunaris Group.”

“From what I know, he goes to Wildwood Campers every Saturday.”

“Good.”

“Send me his location and travel records.”

“I’ll buy you a drink next time.”

After hanging up, I looked at Bree.

“Brantli works at Lunaris Group.”

“He lives in housing in the downtown district.”

“Since you still refuse to admit it…”

“I’ll make sure you understand everything.”

Then I looked at everyone around me.

“Everyone, arguing won’t prove anything.”

“I already know where her affair partner is.”

“If anyone wants to see the truth for themselves…”

“You can come with me.”

“As for whether this recording is real or fake…”

“I’ve already contacted a forensic expert.”

“They’re heading there with us.”

“When we arrive…”

“The truth will come out.”

Hearing this, many people became interested.

They said they wanted to follow and see what really happened.

But Bree’s expression changed instantly.
