I Saw The Comments Calling Me Evil And Realized I Was Pregnant Chapter 02
Over the next few days, I became a completely different person.
I stopped sleeping in until noon and started getting up early to have breakfast with Nash.
After he left, I did the laundry-even though I ruined one of his work shirts-and kept trying to learn how to cook, though the results were still a total disaster.
Every time Nash came home, he would silently take over whatever I was doing and push me down onto the couch, “Rest. I’ve got this.”
[Why is she pretending to be a good housewife now? Why didn’t she think about treating the ML well when she was constantly screaming at him and beating him before?]
[Lmao, it’s useless no matter how much she tries to suck up to him now. Lilith has already arrived.]
[The villainess meets a brutal end later on. Just wait and see.]
Every time I saw those words, it felt like someone was squeezing my heart.
But every ounce of kindness I showed him now was one more chance at surviving later.
Even if he regained his memory and didn’t want me anymore, at least he might remember the good things I did these past few days, right?
Lately, Nash started acting strange too.
He kept getting calls from strange numbers at night, and every single time, he would step out onto the balcony or outside the front door to answer them, keeping his voice incredibly low.
When he came back inside, his expression would be dead serious, and whenever I asked who it was, he would just say it was the foreman from the construction site.
I didn’t believe him.
The comments said that Lilith had found him.
One night, he went out to the balcony to take another call, and I quietly crept over, listening through the crack in the door to hear him say, “…I don’t remember anything from before. I have a girlfriend now. Stop coming to look for me.”
Then he hung up and stood on the balcony for a very long time.
I retreated back to the bed, my heart pounding wildly.
[Ah, the ML is so devoted. Even with amnesia, he’s still so loyal.]
[He’ll still choose Lilith once he gets his memory back. They’re in the same social class, you know.]
[The villainess doesn’t deserve the ML’s sincerity. Why didn’t she think about today when she was treating him like garbage before?]
When we lay down that night, Nash turned over to face me.
“Khloe,” he called out.
“Yeah?”
“I’m not too tired today. Whatever games you want to play, I’m up for it.”
My mouth opened, but no words came out.
In the end, I barely managed to say, “Not tonight.”
He reached out and gently touched my face, “Did I do something wrong? Just tell me, and I’ll fix it.”
I took a deep breath, ready to just throw caution to the wind, “Nash, I’m actually pre…”
But before I could finish the sentence, his phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at the caller ID, his brows knitting together, and after a moment of hesitation, he answered it, “Hello?”
I didn’t know what the person on the other end said, but his expression shifted from confusion to shock, and finally into a dark gravity I had never seen on him before.
“I understand.” He hung up, immediately sitting up to put his clothes on.
“What’s wrong?” I asked nervously.
“Something urgent came up. You go to sleep first. Don’t wait up for me.”
He hastily kissed my forehead, shoved his feet into his shoes, and rushed out the door.
The moment the door slammed shut, comments flashed across my eyes:
[Lilith arrived with a neurologist. They’re restoring the ML’s memory tonight.]
[The villainess’s good days end right here.]
[By this time tomorrow, Nash will be the billionaire heir to the Rothschild empire again, completely done with this crappy apartment.]
I sat alone in the dark, my entire body ice-cold.
Nash didn’t come home all night.
