I Played His Lover’s Husband Chapter 05
Dominic walked in, Aurora trailing timidly behind him.
He glanced at me with a faintly amused smile.
“Why wasn’t I informed we’d switched models?”
The photographer was young and blunt, the kind of person who spoke before thinking. He was the first to
jump in.
“Mr. Harrington, Miss Blake was delayed for too long.”
“I didn’t mean to be late.” Aurora shot Dominic a shy glance, her face instantly flushing crimson. “It’s just that
last night…”
The photographer scratched his head, totally oblivious to what she was hinting at.
“The brand urgently needed the promotional photos and videos, so we had no choice but to start first.”
“And honestly, Miss Montgomery was perfect for it. Just take a look-”
Dominic’s gaze shifted toward the monitor. His expression revealed nothing.
“Oh? And what exactly makes her suitable?”
The photographer, still on his enthusiastic roll, didn’t miss a beat.
“Her figure, her face, her skin, the way she works the camera-everything’s spot on.”
Dominic slowly lifted his eyes and smiled leisurely.
“This jewelry line targets women between twenty and twenty-four.”
“So tell me, how is an old woman with that kind of aging look supposed to be ‘suitable’?”
The entire studio fell silent instantly.
The atmosphere stiffened into something suffocating.
Dominic could throw everything aside for the sake of a beautiful woman.
I, on the other hand, still had shareholders to answer to.
I kept my voice steady. “Take Miss Blake to hair and makeup.”
“What is everyone standing around for? Let’s move.”
I headed to the dressing room to get out of the gown, wanting nothing more than to get the hell out of there.
But the zipper got stuck.
When someone pushed open the door, I assumed it was the stylist.
“Come on in. Can you help me with the zipper?”
The curtain stayed shut. I frowned.
Then Aurora’s soft delicate voice drifted in.
“No need to rush out of that dress, Miss Montgomery. Dominic already had them prep a different one for
me.”
“I don’t like used things, you see. They feel… dirty.”
The zipper suddenly slid down smoothly.
I pulled on my own clothes while letting out a cold laugh.
“Oh? Funny-Miss Blake doesn’t seem to mind used goods when it comes to a man who’s been passed
around more times than a joint.”
The curtain was ripped open. Aurora wasn’t bothering to hide her anger now.
She pulled open her collar, revealing countless dark purple marks scattered across her chest.
With Dominic gone, she’d dropped the innocent act entirely and shot me a provocative smirk.
“You don’t need to keep running your mouth to make yourself feel better, Estelle.”
“Take a good look. Your fiancé can’t keep his hands off me.”
“You must be dying of jealousy, you old hag.”
I smiled right at her, raised my phone, and snapped a photo.
“Thanks for the evidence of Dominic’s infidelity, Miss Blake.”
“Should I send it to the company group chat so everyone can admire it together?”
That clearly caught her off guard.
She let out a shriek and scrambled to cover herself with a blanket.
At that moment, someone called for me anxiously from outside.
“Miss Montgomery, Mr. Harrington is waiting for you outside.”
“He says to watch yourself. And not to get too worked up.”
