I Saw The Comments Calling Me Ugly And Jumped Him In The Shower Chapter 02

That night, he still went to the study.

Perhaps fearing I would barge in again, he even locked the door from the inside.

I stared blankly at his actions, forgetting to move for a moment.

A flood of comments floated across my vision.

[Hahaha, this is hilarious. Delilah actually thought she was the exception and tried to seduce Cassius. What a joke.]

[Right, Cassius was cold by nature. No amount of throwing herself at him would change his mind if he had no feelings.]

[Cut her some slack, I actually feel bad for her. Legally married yet unable to get close to her husband, that’s miserable.]

[Miserable? Cassius gave her a million dollars. Though knowing her petty pride, she’ll probably return the money the very next day. But so what? Cassius’s money is destined for Jade Whitmore, and so is he.]

[Sigh, if I were Delilah, even if I couldn’t get the man, I’d at least keep the money.]

[Exactly. At least she wouldn’t end up penniless after the divorce, working random jobs everywhere, and later burning charcoal to commit suicide from the shock of seeing Cassius and Jade together at a street stall. She brought it all on herself with her fake dignity.]

I rested my chin on my hands, sitting on the steps.

My chest felt tight and heavy with pain.

The comments were right. I was just full of fake dignity.

I was completely broke, yet I was trying to play the game of pure, unconditioned love.

When Cassius gave me money, I actually refused to take it.

If I hadn’t seen these comments, I would have planned to leave with absolutely nothing when we divorced.

I cried the entire night until my eyes were horribly swollen.

But I finally figured it out. If Cassius really didn’t like me, I would just behave myself, grab some cash, and leave on my own when Jade appeared.

With my mind made up, I went back to bed for some catch-up sleep.

I didn’t know that when Cassius woke up in the morning and didn’t see me, he actually froze in surprise for a rare moment.

He hesitated for a while before pushing open the bedroom door.

Seeing the small bulge under the blanket, he relaxed again.

After arriving at the office, just as he was about to start working, he thought it over and called his secretary in.

“This is my wife’s account. Transfer… three million dollars to her from my personal funds.”
