I Saw The Comments Calling Me Ugly And Jumped Him In The Shower Chapter 03
For the first time in a long while, I slept like a rock.
Ever since marrying Cassius, I’d spent every day carefully watching his moods, trying to make him happy. This was the first truly restful sleep I’d had.
When I finally woke up, it was already past two in the afternoon.
Which meant I hadn’t made breakfast for Cassius.
I hadn’t dropped off lunch, either.
Not that he’d care.
I picked up my phone and found a message from him. Rare enough to make me pause.
[Let’s forget about what happened yesterday. I sent you some money. Buy yourself something you like.]
I checked my balance.
$3,001,528.65.
Well.
Thanks to Cassius, I’d officially become a millionaire overnight.
A bitter smile tugged at my lips. If I’d cared about his money from the start, I probably would’ve been financially independent by now.
After washing up, I headed outside to kill some time.
Without realizing it, I somehow ended up in front of Quinn Group’s headquarters again.
A girl in a white T-shirt was handing out flyers near the entrance.
The comments immediately exploded across my vision.
[Ah! It’s Jade! It’s really Jade! She’s so hardworking. She’s taking every job she can get!]
[I remember she’s on her period today and feeling awful. Cassius is about to meet her and take her upstairs to his office.]
So this was her. The girl who would eventually have Cassius losing control.
I studied her for a moment. She was indeed prettier than me.
Her skin was tender and smooth, her cheeks naturally flushed despite standing under the blazing sun.
Her long legs looked even longer in a pair of fitted jeans, and her plain clothes did nothing to hide how beautiful she was.
Still, she looked pale. The cramps must’ve been hitting hard.
At that moment, Cassius walked out of the building.
Jade stumbled and fell straight into his arms.
My vision instantly filled with comments.
[HOLY SHIT.]
[THIS IS SO SWEET.]
[I’M LOSING MY MIND.]
Just as they’d predicted, Cassius froze when he saw her face.
For the first time ever, he didn’t pull away from someone’s closeness. After a short pause, he swept her up bridal-style and walked straight back into the company.
I looked away and closed my eyes.
I already knew ML and FL would grow helplessly attracted and fall madly in love now that they had met.
And I, the unloved extra character, would fade out of their story entirely.
Some things truly couldn’t be changed no matter how hard one tried.
A weird urge to cry and laugh hit me all at once.
Delilah, just accept your fate, no one would ever love you.
