I Saw The Comments Calling Me Ugly And Jumped Him In The Shower Chapter 04

Walking into the neighboring mall in a daze, I spotted a hair salon and stepped inside.

The stylist smiled and asked, “What are we doing for you today, miss?”

“Cut it short.”

He looked shocked. “You want to cut this beautiful long hair short?”

“Yes, cut it short. Right to the earlobes.”

I used to think Cassius liked elegant, ladylike women, so I tried my absolute best to dress the part.

In the end, he didn’t even spare me a glance.

Deep down, I knew I wasn’t a conventional beauty.

My features were too sharp and defined, and forcing myself to keep long hair always felt off.

Once the crisp, short haircut was finished, the stylist smiled. “Wow, look at that. You actually suit this edgy look perfectly.”

My smile looked worse than a sob. “Really? Maybe… this is who I actually am.”

I wasn’t like Jade, who looked like a runaway princess just standing there.

Heading to the clothing store next door, I bought a comfortable set of casual clothes.

When the clerk asked what to do with my old dress, I replied, “Just throw it away.”

They were all pieces I had blindly bought while trying to guess Cassius’s taste anyway. He didn’t like them, I didn’t like them, so there was no point keeping them.

Back at the house, I cleared out more than half the closet, giving things away or putting them up for sale.

I kept busy until past six in the evening, which was when Cassius came home from work.

Seeing me carrying bags out to the trash, he looked surprised. “What are you doing at this hour? I remember you really liked that dress.”

I kept my head down. “I don’t like it anymore, so I’m throwing it away.”

“Your hair…”

“Cut it. It’s cooler.”

“Oh.” He didn’t push further.

Stepping inside, he saw the dining table was completely empty.

“You…”

Only then did I realize I hadn’t made dinner.

“Sorry, I was a bit tired today. I can order takeout for you.”

Cassius’s gaze fell on me. “No need, I’m not hungry.”

He walked past me and headed straight into the guest bedroom.

As we brushed past each other, a faint scent of jasmine drifted from him.

That was Jade’s scent.
