I Saw The Comments Calling Me Ugly And Jumped Him In The Shower Chapter 11

Unexpectedly, Jade never appeared again.

The day I went to get the divorce license, Cassius showed up.

He wasn’t as desolate as I imagined. He was sharp in a suit, looking at me with a rare gentleness.

Holding my hand, he said, “Let’s go get the license.”

The staff almost thought we had come to the wrong place.

When the divorce license was being stamped, the staff member hesitated. “You two seem to get along so well. Are you sure you don’t want to think it over?”

Cassius smiled and shook his head. “Go ahead. I respect her choice.”

Seeing him calm and polite, a sharp pang of emotion struck me.

But by now, I could face things like this with composure.

Outside the courthouse, Cassius held me gently.

“Tomorrow, I won’t see you off at the airport,” he said softly. “I bought you an apartment abroad, right next to your school. I’ve handed the keys to my cousin.”

“Delilah, take care of yourself out there. And remember, don’t let yourself be wronged again.”

He waved, nudging me into the taxi.

I turned to watch him fade into the crowd.

The car drove on, and a soft male voice hummed a tune.

“I only lost you, those unforgettable moments…”

“Tears falling in an instant, I only want to hold you tight…”

“Saying nothing, we can’t start over again…”

“I can only leave…”

Tears finally fell.

Cassius, I’m sorry. I hope you’re happy.

Life abroad settled into a steady rhythm.

I was either at school or in the lab, busy from morning to night.

I once thought I’d be heartbroken, but once school started, I realized I didn’t even have time to dwell on it.

Mateo visited occasionally, bringing news from home.

He said that Jade had gone to work for a rival company of the Quinn Group, trying to sell Quinn Group’s corporate secrets.

But Cassius had already anticipated it. As soon as the project was leaked, he called the police. Jade was arrested immediately.

When she was taken, she kept yelling that she was the FL, that Cassius wouldn’t be mad at her.

Cassius ignored her completely, letting his lawyers sue to the fullest.

Mateo said that during the trial, Cassius actually snapped at Jade, “All because of you, I ended up without a wife. Sending you to jail isn’t too much.”

I didn’t understand what he meant.

It had been so long since I left, and he still hadn’t sent me a single message.

Occasionally, I opened the chat window, wanting to say something, but couldn’t think of a reason to start.

Valentine’s Day arrived again.

I hesitated all day before finally sending a message: [Hi?]

By three in the afternoon, there was still no reply.

My heart felt both bitter and amused.

I was the one who had left first—so why did it hurt this much?

It wasn’t like I didn’t have other men pursuing me. All I had to do was move on.

I let out a deep sigh, forcing myself to look on the bright side.

Coincidentally, a classmate who had pursued me for a long time asked me out. After a moment’s thought, I agreed.

After class, he came to pick me up, blushing as he asked where I wanted to eat.

Just as I was about to answer, a bouquet of bright red roses appeared.

Cassius, in a perfect suit, hair flawless, eyes full of intense tenderness, squinted at me.

“Hello, miss. I’m your suitor,” he said. “I’ve been busy relocating the company abroad, so I didn’t get a chance to reply to your messages.”

“I wanted to ask if you’d be upset… And is there any chance you might let me take you out to dinner?”

My eyes burned, and my voice trembled as I asked, “You… moved the Quinn headquarters abroad?”

He nodded. “Yes. I told you, from now on, I won’t let you be wronged. I won’t let you suffer the pains of a long-distance relationship.”

I couldn’t hold back any longer. I rushed into his arms, quietly sobbing.

“Cassius.”

“Mm.”

“Thank you. I love you too.”

“I love you too.”

Cassius thought, “Delilah, this time, I’ll be the one firmly walking toward you.”
