I Woke Up Seven Years Later And Left My Cheating Husband Chapter 12

Bennett watched the videos his assistant had sent, one by one.

So on the day he brought Mia back to the family estate, Claire had already heard the entire truth from outside the door.

So Leo’s clothes had been soaked by Mia herself, and Mia had deliberately framed Claire.

So Mia had paid off the bodyguard and told him not to let Claire out no matter what happened. She had even set the fire herself, nearly causing Claire to die in those flames.

Even the reporters who had suddenly appeared at the estate had been arranged by Mia. From beginning to end, Claire had never interfered at all.

Regret, guilt, and pain all surged wildly through Bennett at that moment.

Claire was the woman he had once treasured like his own life.

How could he have lost his mind like a madman and hurt her to this extent?

The thought that he had played a part in every injury Claire had suffered over the past few days filled Bennett with such hatred for himself that even his heart seemed to tremble and turn cold.

Bennett breathed heavily until the bedroom door opened again and Mia walked in.

“Mr. Ford, the doctor is here…”

Bennett merely lifted his eyes, his voice cold to the extreme. “Tell them all to leave.”

Mia froze. “But your condition right now…”

“Do you not understand plain English?” Bennett roared. “Get everyone out!”

After a pause, his sharp gaze landed on Mia. Then he said coldly, “You stay.”

A flash of wild joy passed through Mia’s eyes.

Only after the doctor closed the door did she hurry toward Bennett. “Mr. Ford, is there something you want to say to me?”

But very quickly, the joy on her face froze.

A large hand with prominent knuckles suddenly reached out and closed around her throat, instantly making it impossible for her to breathe. The air was quickly forced from her lungs.

Mia struggled. “M-Mr. Ford, what’s wrong with you?”

“Did I ever tell you,” Bennett said, enunciating every word, “that the only reason you exist in my life is because you could give Claire and me a child?”

Did I ever tell you not to covet a place that doesn’t belong to you? No one can ever shake Claire’s position as

Mrs. Ford.”

Mia nodded in terror. “You did. You did.”

“Since I told you that, where did you get the nerve to frame Claire and hurt her?”

“I didn’t.” Mia denied it at once. “Mr. Ford, there must be some misunderstanding.”

With a sharp smack, Bennett no longer bothered listening to her excuses. He grabbed the fruit knife beside him and drove it hard through the back of Mia’s hand.

The fruit knife pierced straight through her skin and flesh, pinning her palm to the table.

Mia let out a scream of despair and terror.

“I know I was wrong, Mr. Ford. Please spare me-ah!”

Only then did Bennett slowly rise. He looked down at her and said, word by word, “If you had the courage to hurt Claire, then you should have the courage to bear the consequences.”

“Someone come in. Drag her out and lock her in the basement.”

“Whatever she did to Claire, return it to her a thousand times over.”

Mia trembled in terror, her face deathly pale. A large wet stain spread beneath her.

Then she seemed to go mad, laughing wildly. “Bennett, stop pretending to be so deeply in love.”

“If you truly loved Claire, how could you have cheated on her? How could you have slept with another woman

for the sake of some so-called heir?”

“In the end, no matter how important Claire was to you, she was never more important than your money, your status, or the Ford family fortune.”

Mia’s furious shouts gradually faded into the distance.

But her words were like a nail driven deep into Bennett.

It was as if Mia had ripped away the mask covering his face. Shame and unease overwhelmed him, and he no longer dared to keep thinking.

At this moment, only one thought remained in his mind.

No matter where Claire was, even if he had to search the ends of the earth, he would bring her back.
