She Stole My Pain, So I Took Her to Antarctica Chapter 06

I stopped speaking and calmly took off my outermost layer.

Antarctica’s freezing air did not bother me at all.

But on the other side of the screen, Vivian collapsed to the floor almost instantly.

“It’s so cold… so cold…”

Her body curled in on itself. The tears that spilled from pure instinct froze almost as soon as they fell.

Still, she did not forget to curse.

“You disgusting woman! Put your clothes back on right now!”

“You used such a low trick against me. I’ll make you pay sooner or later!”

Low?

When she used the same method on me, it was clever. When I returned it to her, it became low?

I was unmoved.

I reached for another layer.

Logan froze in shock. When he finally reacted, he hurriedly pulled Vivian into his arms.

Even then, he still tried to threaten me.

“Erin, put your clothes back on right now! Can’t you see what you’ve done to Vivian? She’s freezing.”

“Even if you’re jealous, there has to be a limit.”

“Keep this up, and we’re done.”

That last sentence sounded like he was offering me charity.

It was absurd.

I had no idea where he got that kind of confidence.

“We ended a long time ago.”

My voice was cool.

“You…”

Logan choked on my words, his face filling with humiliation.

He was about to lecture me when his phone rang.

It was his department supervisor.

“Logan, you’re fired. Come clear out your personal belongings as soon as possible. If you don’t get them within the hour, you can dig them out of the trash yourself.”

Then the call ended.

Logan clutched the dead phone in disbelief.

“How is that possible? I have the top sales numbers at the company. How could I be fired?”

Hearing that confidence, I could not help laughing coldly.

Without the resources I had quietly fed him, would he have ranked first in anything?

Besides, the company was mine.

Logan never would have imagined that the girlfriend he thought did nothing but sit at home all day was actually the controlling shareholder of a publicly traded company.

I was grateful now that when I got together with him, I had kept one card hidden.

A message popped up on my phone.

Ms. Hall, Logan has been terminated.

I smiled faintly and replied to the company president with one line.

Double your annual salary.

On the other side of the video, Logan was still muttering to himself, unable to accept reality.

“Impossible… How could I be fired?”

“It must be the company president. He’s jealous of me. He’s afraid I’ll replace him. I’ll take this straight to the owner. Yes. I’ll complain to the owner.”

I watched him unravel without pity.

I really had misjudged him before.

By then, Vivian had wrapped every blanket in the house around herself.

It did nothing.

I, on the other hand, was starting to feel warm.

At last, she stopped being stubborn and cried as she apologized to me.

“Erin! I’m begging you. Let me go. I’m really going to freeze to death.”

The cold seemed to have sunk into her bones. Even the smallest movement seemed to drain all her strength.

Vivian finally panicked.

She knew now that she could really die.

When she saw my cold expression, she started begging Logan.

“Logan! Please help me talk to Erin. She’ll listen to you.”

Logan was already irritated. The second her ice-cold hands touched him, he shoved her away in disgust.

He had already been fired, and she was still bothering him.

Did she think he did not have enough problems?

Vivian hit the floor and stared at him as if she could not believe what she had just seen.

“Why?”

Why had Logan, the man who used to protect her so tenderly, suddenly become someone else?

I watched them with open contempt.

Why?

Because Logan only loved himself.

Everyone else was just someone he could use.
