The Rose He Killed Chapter 02
Five years ago, Asher was the best Alpha heir of the Blood Moon Pack, and I was the brightest star in the pack’s arts troupe.
Right when the pack was expanding, my father, Beta Mark, was exposed for leaking Blood Moon secrets. He became a traitor.
The night before our parents were taken to the trial hall, they put my little brother and me in a car headed for the border. Then they ended their own lives with a silver blade in the Beta office.
I got my brother settled and went back to the pack alone, but on the way, I was snatched by unknown men and imprisoned in an abandoned border outpost. Fifteen days of torture.
When Asher blew the iron door open with his warriors, I couldn’t even cry anymore.
From that day on, the warm, bright Chloe died. What lived on was a total lunatic.
Asher’s Alpha parents and the pack elders would never allow an Alpha heir to have a fated mate stained with so much disgrace.
They decided to send me to the Blood Moon forbidden grounds to “rest and recover.”
Asher gave up his Alpha heir status voluntarily. He even threatened with his own life.
“I’ve already marked Chloe. She’s my mate. I’ll protect her for the rest of my life, even if it kills me.”
“Since Blood Moon won’t have her, I’m giving up my claim as Alpha heir. I’ll never step foot in Blood Moon territory again.”
But after only five years, he got tired. He didn’t want me anymore.
I cried in the bathroom until I passed out, then woke up, then passed out again. Over and over. I barely made it through the night.
At dawn, I forced myself up, fixed my clothes, combed my hair, and walked straight to the pack hospital.
I pushed open Aria’s hospital room door. Ignoring her pale face, I slapped a transfer order on her bedside.
“Sign it. You’re the new head of the Moonbrook Pack’s Southern Omega District.”
Aria hurriedly typed on her phone. Her eyes were red as she handed it to me.
[Luna Chloe, Alpha and I are innocent. I would never break you two up—]
“Innocent?” I sneered and threw the intimate photos in her face. “Then what are these?”
“Aria, I’ve seen a thousand women like you.”
“Sign the order, and I’ll guarantee your future. Don’t—” My eyes flashed with killing intent. “Don’t blame me for being cruel.”
Aria shrank into the corner, crying harder. Her fingers shook as she typed again.
[Luna, I know Alpha has you.]
“I rejected him from the start. He forced those photos. I never came onto him.”
My eyes went red. I backhanded her across the face.
“I’ll ask one last time. Sign or not?”
She shook her head stubbornly.
I turned to the warrior coldly. “Treat her as a pack traitor. Take her to the dungeon.”
Then I walked out, shutting the door on the panicked whimpering behind me.
