The Rose He Killed Chapter 03

The Rose He Killed Chapter 03

Back in the empty pack house, I curled up on the couch, hollow-eyed, like my soul had been scooped out.

My phone buzzed. An encrypted message from a warrior. [Luna Chloe! Bad news! Aria… she’s pregnant. She miscarried on the way to the dungeon.]

Bang!

The door crashed open, shattering the silence.

Asher stood in the doorway. His normally green eyes were now blood red.

We stared at each other for ten full seconds. The air was thick as frozen ice.

Then he charged, pinned me down on the couch. His belt buckle clanked against the coffee table.

“Let go! Asher, get off me—”

His rough hand tore my clothes like I was a prisoner.

Dark memories flooded back. I shook uncontrollably, screaming, writhing.

“Don’t touch me! Get off! Get OFF!”

But Asher breathed hard against my ear and dropped the cruelest words.

“You’re not a virgin anymore. Stop pretending you’re some pure little thing.”

I went rigid. Cracks splintered through my pupils.

“What… did you say?”

The second the words left his mouth, Asher regretted them.

But then he thought of that unborn child. Of my insane revenge. And that regret got swallowed by rage.

He smirked, got rougher, each word a knife.

“Am I wrong? Those fifteen days in the outpost—you’re telling me you weren’t—”

“AHH! Shut up!” I lost it, swinging at his face, tears exploding. “I hate you, Asher. I hate you so much.”

Those fifteen days were the ugliest, most painful scar I had. And he ripped it open, stabbed me right in the deepest wound.

“Hate me?” Asher’s eyes blazed crimson. He caught my wrist. “Chloe, be honest. If I hadn’t taken you, who else would’ve wanted you?”

“Even a dog knows when to be grateful. Why couldn’t you just back off Aria?”

“You’re gonna pay for that child—count on it.”

When he finished, he stormed out without a backward glance.

After that, every night he came to my room smelling of whiskey, “punishing” me in the most degrading ways.

A month later, I found out I was pregnant at the pack hospital.

I stood outside clutching the report. Pitifully, a tiny spark of hope flickered inside me.

Maybe with this baby, things would change between Asher and me.

But that hope didn’t even get warm before it got crushed by the cold.

Asher walked toward me with a squad of warriors, his eyes frozen knives.

“Tie up the Luna. Take her to the basement. Keep at it until… she loses the baby.”

My eyes went bloodshot. I struggled and screamed, “Asher, don’t you want a child? Aria lost hers, but I’m carrying yours right now! This is your blood too!”

A cruel smile tugged at his lips. He ran a fingertip over my belly.

“You think I kept you from getting pregnant all these years for no reason?”

I froze like a spell had hit me.

“You stopped being worthy of carrying my kids a long time ago.” He leaned down and whispered in my ear.

“But Aria’s different. She’s clean—like fresh snow… She gave me her first time, all shy and awkward. That’s what I wanted to feel.”

Then he stopped looking at my bleeding eyes, turned away, and left one final order.

“Remember. Don’t stop until she miscarries.”

I didn’t fight anymore.

I was a puppet without a soul as they tied me to a chair.

Heavy clubs slammed into my lower belly again and again. I could feel the warm liquid leaking down my legs.

That was my baby. Leaving me bit by bit.

I don’t know how long it took. The warriors stopped when my breathing got weak and took me to the ER.

In the hospital lobby, through blurry eyes, I saw Asher carefully walking out with Aria in his arms.

She leaned against him with a fragile smile.

He held her like a porcelain doll.

When he looked down to talk to her, his eyes were full of tenderness.

They passed by me without a single pause.

When I woke up again, my eyes were nothing but dead, bloody red.

I grabbed my phone from the bedside and dialed my brother overseas with shaking hands.

“Andrei. Give me some of your lab’s fake death pills. As fast as you can.”

Asher, anyone in this world can lie to me. Anyone can hurt me. But not you.

I want you to watch me die with your own eyes. I want you to live in regret forever. Never at peace.
