They Bullied The CEO’s Daughter Without Knowing Who I Was Chapter 04
Graham could barely protect himself. He stumbled to his feet.
“Stop it! This is insane—”
“They’re in on it together. Both of them are spies. Take them out!”
At Amber’s command, Graham got punched and kicked until he passed out.
“Amber, we didn’t find the file.” A coworker panted.
I huddled in a corner, shaking.
The others looked confused. “Amber, are you sure?”
Amber stomped. “She hid it. She wants to make us panic.”
She pinched my chin. “Where’s the file?”
I shook my head stiffly. Amber’s nails cut my skin.
Hiss—
I bit her.
“You bit me!” She raised her hand again. I shrank back.
A receptionist ran over and whispered, “Mr. Chase is here. He’s on the first floor.”
From the elevator came a loud, familiar laugh.
It really was my cousin Nolan Chase!
I burst out screaming, “Nolan!”
He turned and looked my way.
“Trying to run?” Amber grabbed my hair.
I crashed backwards.
“Did I just hear Paige?” Nolan thought he heard me and started walking over. Amber signaled to someone. “Lock her in the supply closet.”
“Mr. Chase is here for a meeting. Can’t let her ruin it again.”
They dragged me into the supply closet. I watched helplessly as Nolan walked past.
Amber greeted him fawningly.
Nolan looked around. “I could have sworn I saw Paige here.”
“Who are you looking for, Mr. Chase?”
“Someone who looks like my little sister.”
Amber’s fake smile froze. “Your little sister works here too?”
Nolan stopped right in front of the supply closet. Amber jumped in front of him.
“Mr. Chase, Mr. Caldwell’s got some cold brew waiting for you in the conference room.”
I sobbed silently through the crack in the door.
Nolan grinned. “Alright, I’ll try it.”
