They Bullied The CEO’s Daughter Without Knowing Who I Was Chapter 09

Stacy hadn’t expected Amber to throw her under the bus like that.

She commanded, “Shut up! Isn’t this embarrassing enough?”

Mom made Stacy fire Amber on the spot. Then she called legal to sue Amber for assault.

Nolan immediately added that Chase Group would sue for business interference.

Stacy tried to curry favor. “Ms. Ashford, is that acceptable?”

Amber’s eyes were red. She glared at Mom.

“You won’t win. Mr. Caldwell will protect me. I’m carrying his child.”

Mom just laughed. She pulled out her phone and called Dad.

“Reid Caldwell, get your ass down here right now.”

Less than five minutes later, Dad appeared.

He walked over nervously. Mom grabbed his ear. “This woman says she’s having your baby.”

Dad looked horrified. “What? Honey, I—”

Mom held on tight. Dad begged, “Honey, I’m sorry. Just let me make this right.”

He looked at me pitifully. “Paige, help Dad out.”

Then his eyes landed on my bruised face. He exploded. “Amber, you’re dead.”

“Honey, don’t hold me back.”

Mom had the medical team treat my wounds.

Dad took off his suit jacket and wrapped me in it.

Then he walked to the conference room with a cold face.

Amber had been locked in there. She’d been screaming and cursing, and they just let her out.

The moment she saw Dad, her eyes filled with tears.

She tried to throw herself into his arms. Dad recoiled like she was a threat.

Amber bit her lip. “Mr. Caldwell, they bullied me. You have to protect me.”

Dad looked confused. “Why would I protect you?”

Amber blinked shyly. “That time you went to Austin on business. You got drunk, and we…”

She touched her belly. “I’m carrying our love child.”

Dad didn’t hesitate. “Pull the hotel security footage from Austin. And get a doctor to examine her.”

Amber looked hurt. “Mr. Caldwell, you don’t believe me?”

I didn’t believe her either. Dad loved Mom too much.

The Austin hotel sent the footage immediately. They played it for everyone.

Dad got drunk only one night during the trip. The driver took him to his room and stayed outside the whole time.

Amber appeared in the hallway, looked around for a bit, then went back to her own room.

Dad explained, “I was on the top floor. Sixteenth. What, you think you’re Spider-Man? No way you got anywhere near me.”

The doctor examined Amber. She was pregnant.

But the baby wasn’t Dad’s.

Dad handed the report to Mom. She nodded.

Amber was ten weeks pregnant. She hadn’t even started working here yet.

She wanted Dad to be the daddy.

Employees whispered, “No wonder Amber’s been so moody lately.”

Amber tried to argue more. Dad played his final card. “I had a vasectomy.”

His whole family knew. The only reason he married Mom was because he promised that—boy or girl—he would only have one child. Ever.

So I would get all the love.

Amber’s schemes fell apart.

She faced massive lawsuits from three companies and a prison sentence for assault.

As for Stacy, she was permanently blacklisted from Caldwell Group. The whole industry would never hire her. She’d have to beg on the streets.

Graham got hurt protecting me. The company gave him a massive bonus and bumped him up to General Manager of Sales.

He even bought me a gift to say thank you.

After this, Mom and Dad decided not to keep me locked away in a greenhouse anymore. They started training me. They hired a martial arts expert so I could defend myself.

Mom yelled at Dad for a long time. She stayed mad until my scars healed completely.

Nolan felt bad for not finding me sooner. He transferred a villa in his name to me as compensation.

Mom posted a family photo and their marriage announcement on social media.

Dad kissed the marriage certificate like it was the lottery. He was over the moon. Then he gave me ten percent of the company and enrolled me in business classes.

He beamed and announced, “Starting tomorrow, every Caldwell Group employee handbook is gonna have your picture on the first page.”

“So they all know—you’re the sole heir of Caldwell Group.”

From then on, the employee handbook updates my photo every year.

I got a new watch. Dad designed it to be one of a kind.

This one has a hidden tranquilizer needle. If anyone tries to hurt me, I can use it.

I never got hurt like that again. With Mom and Dad who love me, I’m the happiest kid in the world.
