Abandoned by My Four Dons: The Mafia Princess’s Revenge chapter 07

None of them moved.

On the other end, Gianna kept talking.

“I’m so scared… Nina’s just jealous because you love me more, so she took it out on me while you were gone!”

Matteo’s voice came out wrecked.

“You said Nina hit you just now, while we weren’t there?”

Gianna, completely lost in her own performance, missed the shift in his tone entirely. She just cried harder.

“It’s fine, really. I have her heart now. I guess she deserves to hate me a little.”

Alessio’s breath caught. His hands trembled so badly he could barely keep hold of the phone.

“Gianna, all those times you came to us crying, saying Nina was bullying you. Were you lying? Did you make it all up?”

She stood off to the side, eyes wide.

That explained everything.

Gianna had been turning them against her this entire time, whispering lies, pulling them away one by one. That was why everything had changed.

But none of it could touch her anymore.

She glanced at the clock on the wall.

She’d spent every last cent she had in this world on one final gift for them.

It had to be almost time…

The room had fallen silent.

Matteo’s voice emerged hollow. “Gianna told me Nina tore up her favorite dress out of jealousy. I completely shut Nina out after that, refused to even make her meals, just to teach her a lesson.”

Alessio slammed his fist into the wall. His knuckles split open.

“Gianna told me Nina kept frightening her at night, making her pass out. I felt so guilty I swore I’d cure her myself…”

He covered his face and let out a broken sob.

“God, what have I done… I destroyed my own sister for a lying stranger.”

Dario looked gutted. “She was always tearing Nina down to me too…”

Rafe stood in the corner, eyes red, staring at the white sheet draped over her body. He didn’t say a single word.

Alessio, Matteo, and Dario sank to their knees beside the bed, sobbing, begging for her forgiveness.

“Nina, we’re going to make this right. We swear it.”

All she felt was the sickening irony of it all.

Had they forgotten they were part of it too? That they were the ones who had pushed her to this?

They carried her body to the car. They wanted to give her a proper funeral.

As they drove through the city, her face appeared across the digital billboards, one screen after another.

At the same moment, her voice came through the car speakers.

“My name is Nina. I’m here to tell the world what my brothers, Alessio, Matteo, and Dario, and my husband, Rafe, did to me. They took my heart.”

All four men stumbled out of the car.

People on the street stopped one by one, eyes lifting toward the screens.

The Midtown billboards were playing the footage, the recording from outside the operating room where they’d planned everything.

“Nina’s healthy. Blood type, age, everything lines up. We won’t get another chance like this. We should transplant her heart into Gianna.”

“I’ll have the evidence destroyed. Nina won’t know a thing.”

Dario’s voice cracked open.

“God… how long did she know? Is that why… did she do this because she knew?”

All four men stood paralyzed as strangers’ voices cut into them, one word at a time.

“Holy shit, is that the Lazzari girl? What the hell is she saying? They cut out her heart for the adopted sister?”

“Oh my God. Alessio? That big-shot surgeon? Doctor of the Year? He stole his own sister’s heart?”

“The Lazzari brothers were supposed to worship that girl! You wouldn’t do that to your worst enemy, and they did it to their own flesh and blood!”

Then the screens cut to the next clip, the recording from the previous night. Gianna and Rafe.

“My heart’s fixed now. So when are you going to leave her?”

“You know you’re the one I love. But Nina saved my life. I can’t just throw her away. And Alessio said, if your body starts rejecting the heart, we still need her blood to save you.”

Matteo, always the sharpest mind in the room, was the first to piece it together.

Every trace of color drained from his face. He turned to Rafe.

“You and Gianna… you knew each other before any of this? You brought her into our family just to fix her heart?”
