I Saw The Comments Calling Me Ugly And Jumped Him In The Shower Chapter 05

Cassius kept darting glances toward the doorway while showering.

After I had broken in yesterday, he couldn’t quite set his mind at ease today.

He couldn’t pin down his messy feelings, torn between quiet anticipation and subtle resistance.

Absently applying the body wash, he listened intently for any movement in the house.

But even after half an hour, Delilah still hadn’t come in.

He shook his head, convinced he’d lost his mind.

Why on earth was he expecting her to burst in and kiss him again?

He didn’t even like her.

After rinsing off the foam, he walked out wearing his robe.

He told himself he was just a bit hungry and wanted to find something to eat in the kitchen.

But when he reached the ground floor, the living room was completely dark.

Only then did he realize that Delilah had already gone to sleep.

Cassius felt strangely irritated, turning around to head back to his bedroom.

That night, he dreamed that Delilah broke into the bathroom again and he didn’t let her go…

Waking up the next morning, I found breakfast set on the table.

Cassius rarely cooked, but seeing me, he offered a slight smile. “Morning. I thought you looked unwell, so I fried some eggs for you.”

I gave a faint murmur of assent.

Just as my heart was about to ease a little, those comments appeared again.

[Crap, what’s going on? Cassius is actually cooking for Delilah?]

[Oh, please. It’s because he heard yesterday about how hard Jade’s life is, so he wants to learn how to make breakfast.]

[Seriously, look at Delilah, she looks like she’s about to cry. She probably thinks Cassius likes her again.]

[So shameless. Being that ugly, she has zero self-awareness and still keeps pushing herself forward.]

The more they insulted me, the colder my heart grew.

I finished my breakfast in silence.

While drinking his milk, Cassius kept watching me out of the corner of his eye. “Is it good?”

I gave another quiet murmur. “Yeah.”

When he made it for Jade in the future, she would probably like it.

I picked up the dishes and went to the kitchen, completely missing how Cassius’s gaze remained fixed on my back.

As he was about to head out the door, he bent down, intending to kiss me.

Startled, I twisted my waist and stepped back. “What are you trying to do?”

“Nothing.” He cleared his throat and offered an awkward explanation. “Well, we are married. This is just a normal routine.”

I forced a bitter smile and waved my hand. “No… no need. You don’t have to do this.”

You don’t have to force yourself to accept me against your will, just do what you actually want to do.

Looking at Cassius’s handsome face, I silently brought a close to this four-year relationship in my heart.

Cassius went to work with a dark expression. I figured that since the FL had already appeared, our marriage would probably end very soon.

I didn’t know what I would do, being all alone in the future.

Wanting someone to talk to, I took a cab to my mother’s place.

There, she was holding my half-brother Luca, soaking in the sun.

Seeing me, a flash of displeasure crossed her eyes. “There’s no holiday or occasion, why’re you here?”

I explained awkwardly, “Nothing, I just wanted to visit. Mom, I have something to tell you…”

Right then, Luca tripped and fell. My mother rushed over to pick him up. “If there’s anything, just text me. Luca’s father is coming back soon. He doesn’t like you. You should leave.”

I had no choice but to blankly head over to my father’s place, only to find the front door locked tight.

Calling my dad, the sound of ocean waves came from the other end.

“I’m vacationing in Miami with your stepmother. Don’t call me unless it’s urgent.”

“Dad, I need to talk to you…”

“Talk to your mother if something’s wrong. Stop always calling me, you’re not just my kid.”

With that, he hung up with a sharp click.

I stood at the intersection, completely lost.

Right at that moment, the comments flashed again.

[Oh yeah! Jade brought food to Cassius, and the two of them had a sweet lunch together all afternoon.]

[So sweet! When is Delilah getting written out? Can’t wait for Jade and Cassius’s passionate night scenes.]

[Pretty soon. Per the plot, Cassius’s gonna propose to Jade in two months tops. He’ll get rid of Delilah before that happens for sure.]
