They Took My Ticket, I Destroyed Their Lives Chapter 06
Jayden went stiff as a board, his pupils shrinking. It was like a bolt of lightning had hit him.
“You can’t do that! Who do you think you are?! That’s a grant from the Rosetti Family! What does that have to do with you? You’re just a student—don’t get ahead of yourself!”
Vivian covered her mouth with one hand, her other hand gripping Jayden’s arm tight. “It’s impossible… you don’t have that kind of pull…”
They thought my warning was just a bluff, a desperate girl playing God.
I didn’t give them another look and turned and entered the cabin.
As the ground fell away, I pulled out my phone and messaged my father: [Dad, I’m in the air.]
Almost instantly, his private line rang. “Kira,” my father’s voice came through, steady and strong. “The scholarship matter is already with the lawyers.”
He paused, his voice taking on a dangerous edge.
“And listen to me. Stay away from people like that—small-minded, no respect, and clearly ‘senza onore.’ Someone who calls the Foundation to complain instead of handling their business doesn’t deserve our time.” “He’s not worth the dirt on your shoes.”
Jayden had panicked and actually called to check.
All he would have gotten was a cold, formal confirmation and a warning for stepping out of line.
My father is a “gentiluomo,” but those who cross him usually end up as food for the sharks.
“I know, Dad. Thanks.”
Thanksgiving was quiet and comfortable, the warmth of the Family making me forget the chiacchiere at school. Vivian’s Instagram went dark—the girl who used to post ten times a day suddenly had nothing to say. Jayden didn’t send a
single text. It was unnervingly quiet.
When break ended and I headed back to campus, I could feel the atmosphere shift the second I walked through the gates. Groups of girls who were whispering stopped the moment they saw me, exchanging looks before scattering.
I could hear the muffled laughs and the “veleno” even as I walked away.
“That’s her…”
“Who would’ve thought…”
“Always acting so pure…”
I ignored it and went straight to my room.
As soon as I hit the Wi-Fi, my phone started exploding with WhatsApp notifications from every group chat on campus.

The headlines were vicious.
They didn’t name me, but “Top Student” and “Private Jet” were enough to put a target on my back.
The threads were hundreds of posts long, with “insiders” claiming they saw me getting into cars with old men or being “kept” by real estate moguls.
There were even grainy photos. One was our “low-key” Audi picking me up at the gate. Another was from the start of the semester—me talking to my father by the school entrance.
The angles were dirty. Because of the distance, you could only see my father’s expensive clothes and his age, and me smiling at him, looking “intimate.”
But who the hell had the “coraggio” to stalk the Don of the Rosetti Family?
Did they want to go for a swim in the harbor?
